I Wish Bohl Better luck than Solemson moving up.
Back when Solemson came to MSU he was as Regal as Bohl is today. It will be interesting to see this all plays out. I remember traveling through Fargo back when we nabbed Earl and he was a shoe in for Governer of No Dak If he would of ran according to the press. I do wish Bohl well. It would be good to see Wyoming have a run. Any body know where Earl is these days.

There's one major difference. Solomonson was the head coach at NDSU for only a couple of seasons, before MSU hired him. He inherited a very good prorgram, and won a couple of championships with the previous coaches' players. That didn't tell you anything about him in terms of the most important attribute for a head coach...recruiting. Bohl has been there long enough that he's proven his ability as a recruiter, and he also successfully guided them through their transition from D-II to FCS. The two situations are actually very different IMHO.curlewcat wrote:Back when Solemson came to MSU he was as Regal as Bohl is today. It will be interesting to see this all plays out. There's another major difference: Bohl's NDSU team makes a habit of beating the kinds of teams that Bohl's Wyoming teams will need to beat to be competitive.John K wrote:There's one major difference. Of course, the fact that he's doing it with his players does make it all the more convincing.

Big difference between Solomonson and Bohl. Bohl took over a 2-8 team when Bob Babich was fired after the 2002 season and turned them into a three peat NC team... Earle Solomonson took over from Don Morton who went on to coach Wisconson. Earle inherited a team that was 11-2 and had been to back to back national championship games. Earle had two years at NDSU on the coattails of the juggernaut built by Morton. Apples and oranges.curlewcat wrote:Back when Solemson came to MSU he was as Regal as Bohl is today.
