Who will challenge the Cats Basketball Team.

Yeah, but maybe they over-achieved last year, and will not this year. I seem to remember them getting pummeled in the tournament.

Will 7-7 win the conference? If not you may want to take a hard look at NAU which will be better than 7-7.

Actually the 'Cats were severely underrated coming into last year. We added serious, quality depth (not to mention a heck of an assistant coach) with transfers that were largely unaccounted for in the pre-season polls. Check the posts from the leadup to bball season last year. Pretty much everyone on here knew we were going to have a very good team, even tho the pundits and coaches had picked us last.

Now that the "experts" know what we know about the talent on our team, they agree with our assessment.

As for us getting pummeled in the tourney, don't get us started on that again!... not good times on the BN.

As Coach Durham said in a recent article, it is very difficult to pick the favorites in the Big Sky because of the quality of JC transfers many of the BSC schools pick up. Example, the Bobcats last year. That is why the Bobcats "surprised" the picks last year... not because they over achieved Wolfman. This year they return their first nine and picked up two quality transers to go with them... a shooting guard and a 6'10" big man. So I think I would have to give the Bobcats the league favorite role... and the Griz will be in the thick of things.

The only thing for sure about the Big Sky men's BB race this year - is no one can feel super confident going into the season. Like last year, the league has been re-stocked with Jucos and transfers that have the 'potential' for huge impact.

I think the real question is the cats ability to finish strong...Mic always seems to start out the season strong but fade as the season progresses. I'm not sure if it's conditioning or coaching but is it getting frustrating!
