A response defending himself against that would have been fine (assuming he didn't just dive into the poor me egriz insurgency stuff to do it). Giving a report on who you believe another poster to be and the things you think they have said on another board is not fine and was completely off topic.CelticCat wrote:If Wolfmans defense, if another Bobcat said that "I continually pretend to be a Cat fan", I would say a word or two in my defense. But you think he'd be used to it by now.

Max, we'll just have to agree to disagree. It is amusing that you can not see that there a several posters from egriz who come on to this board SOLELY to take shots at me. That is their only purpose in posting here. If that is not insurgency, then what is it? Are they contributing to the discussion of football?
This post is also on topic. I realize its obvious that I don't like Hauck as a coach. Nothing personal against the man, mind you. He would be a good track and field coach somewhere.
I just get pissed when Griz fans think that a person can not be a Griz fan if he criticizes the head coach, or plain just doesn't support the head coach. Is supporting the head coach a criteria for being a fan?
I love the GB Packers, but when Bart Starr and Forrest Gregg were their head coach, I did not like it. That does not keep me from being their fan.
I know for a fact that several Cat supporters do not like Kramer. Does that mean they are not Cat fans? I think not.
So, when the GFGriz guy comes on here to accuse me of not being a GRiz fan, I believe I have the right to defend myself.
That should end this discussion. No need for a PM, as this post was topical.

Everyone gets that you don't like Coach Hauck. Suggesting this means he is one of the "worst" coaches in the Big Sky is another thing. The best evidence of a coach's worth is what his team produces on the field, week after week, year after year. Montana went to the playoffs in Coach Hauck's first year, to the National Championship game his second year, and is sitting in second place nationally in the middle of his third year. The more successful Hauck is, the more games Montana wins under his leadership, the more upset and spiteful you become with him. You said you'd be "shocked" if Montana beat ISU, and you predict there is "no way" Montana can beat EWU. "No way." A real fan of a team, especially a team that has a three-year record of success under its current coach, that is the reigning national runner-up, that has a decades-long history of success overall, and that had just pummeled a team that beat the upcoming opponent would NEVER say there is "no way" his team could win. Some fan. By any meaningful standard, Coach Hauck is one of the better coaches in the conference. I'd put Coach Wulff from EWU and Coach Kramer up there too.Wolfman wrote:Max, we'll just have to agree to disagree. I'm not sure I'd give Wulff credit as the best coach in the 'Sky. Eastern has a sprawl of close to half a million people twenty miles down I-90, but has been an unspectacular program in the 'Sky and hasn't earned an autobid in his tenure. As much as we like to say Esatern does more with less, much of the "less" would simply not be tolerated at the Montana schools. For example, Eastern's athletic budget is the second most subsidized in the conference, behind Sac State. Likewise, Eastern's average attendance has been 6500 this year, woefully behind the conference leaders Montana and Montana State.
