toughest big sky conference ever?
I guess this is a question for some of you older cat fans, but is this the toughest any of you have ever seen the big sky? I mean good god, currently UM, MSU, Eastern and Idaho are in the top 25, with portland state coming in at the 26th spot! Any thoughts?...

I think as whole the conference is going to be tougher, but I don't know if there are any NC calibre teams though. I think the top 5-6 in the BSC are going to duke it out and we are going to beat ourselves up pretty good. I think those top 5 are probably all top 40 teams in IAA, with at least 3 of them top 20. I definately think this is the strongest on average the Sky has been in quite awhile though.

Time will tell, but back in the pre-1995 years, there were some years when the BSC was a lot tougher than it has been since then (back when Idaho, Nevada-Reno, Boise State and UM were all top-10 teams). I'm not saying it's impossible for this year's conference to top that, but it would be quite a feat.

Celtic cat,
I'm not sure I agree with your statement about there not being any NC teams in our conference. The reason I say this is that I haven't seen any teams nationwide establish themselves in the first four games as a front runner. This sentiment is being repeated on anygivensaturday.
What I do think is that there are at least three teams in this conference who have the capability of making some deep runs in the playoffs and even end up on top at the end of the year.

Good point, there hasn't really been any team in IAA I would classify as a shoe-in for the playoffs alone, let alone the NC. It's a weird year so far in IAA.barechestcat wrote:Celtic cat,

Whoever starts playing solid ball in conference, any conference, we'll start to get a more clear picture.
