KRAMER ON SPORTS NUTS
1. Cal ploy was on his mind starting last friday.
2. Saturdays game was Great game for Lulay, and Murry. But O-line and TE played very well and gave Travis all day to pass.
3. Baily and Lulay are on fire.
4. We can go 5 wide, or we can go 2 backs and hide a game.
5. There are no Secrets in the Cal Poly game. But the Cal Poly coach has coached better than Kramer in every game.
6. Kicking game will put Kramer into theropy. Bolton had a great game exept for the one that went out of bounds. Missed PATS are missed because center is so tired that he does bad snaps. So boxick (sp?) will snap on PAT.
7. We are playing great D.
8. The program has done it's job in making this the best game day in a long time.
9. Players were shocked at the size of the croud. Kramer told them to calm down and play like you can.
10. Grades on Team

Bass- B

Thanks SACCAT, I was listening but doing other things so I couldn't take notes.
On the PAT thing, it was actually kind of funny. Kramer said the problem is that Birkeland is so jacked up when we score a TD he runs down to the endzone for "high-fives and bellybumps" then has to run back to snap for the PAT at which point he is tired and messes up the snap. Solution is that Bostick will now be doing the snapping for place kicks.

I thought it was interesting that it was a grade for Bass as opposed to RB.
Groves did look good. But JD has done a good job in the past and can in the future. He might be really down from losing his 1st team spot. That's a tough mental thing (especially as a Senior and everyone talking him up).
Groves however is a Freshman in Kramer's eyes. And Freshman are people just looking to make major mistakes. They think they know everything, but know very little. But even given that, Groves has talent and runs North South with speed, which I like a lot. Bass runs a little more sideline (bouncing out) than turning up field type runner.
I think if JD gets his focus, he has shown in the past he is a stud (receiver and blocker at the least). I would like to see him in a two back set with Bass and spread as a receiver (or if Miller is hurt while Gateway is out, be the third receiver at times instead of Brown).

I was tryin gto write down as fast as I could, so there may be some things I missed.
On the Bass issue, He may have said Rb's and then bass, but all I heard was Bass. The grade he gave him was lower because he droped the ball twice. He did not mention the other Rb's that I heard. Again I was trying to write as fast as pos. but he talks pretty quick.

I have to disagree on the kickers. Bolton needs to put the ball in the endzone more consistant. The only time he did was with the wind, and when he was kicking from the 50.(Which should be over the bleachers) This is College football, get the ball to the endzone!
Xtra points & Field Goals>> Hastings leg is also to weak to be kicking in college. He was short on a 45 yarder with the wind! give me a break. Made a few in the end, which is nice, but even if the snap is bad, as long as tjhe holder gets it down, it should be good. Sorry for being so negative, but our kickers are going to cost us a close game if they do not get better.

That's kind of funny, in a way, but Birkeland needs a bit more professional. I can see where he is excited and wants to get in on the fun, but....what are ya gonna do? [/quote]
