Post game TV interview where Bobby comes on and discusses the game, usually with a couple players, after the Cat\Griz game of 03. Don't remember which station but I think the program is called the Bobby Hauck Show. I'm not going to take the time to dig up the transcripts but trust me, this is what he said, and I'm sure they're there if anyone wants to look.

After watching a play where Justin Green gained some good yardage and was tackled by Kane Ioane, Bobby's comment was, "And here you'll see Justin Green picking up some nice yardage, and he's heading towards 'their guy' (again - like he doesn't know the name KANE IOANE???) and I'll tell you what - I've heard a lot of bragging about this guy but it looks to me like he's getting his rear-end knocked over by Justin". Not terribly demeaning, but pretty lame.
The only thing lame here is you trying to spin this as negative towards the cats.
What's lame is your repeated posting on this subject when you aren't supposed to care.

So let me get this straight. You make a claim about Hauck and I challenge you to back it up with factual evidence. Your response is to send me on a wild goose chase to prove an unrelated claim that I never made in the first place? What is this going to prove? I acknowledge that Kramer has been very complementary toward the Griz program and I find him to be a generally likeable guy. I've never said otherwise. But all this has nothing to do with Bobby Hauck and your claim that he has made all these derogatory comments about MSU. I'm still waiting for you to post them.

Oh but you still care. I'm sure stuff can be dug up but really what's it matter. Most of us Cat fans can't stand Beavis. Everyone knows he's been bred to dislike the Cats his entire life. How and when he says it hopefully he can me mindful of.

People can emanate dislike upon themselves. Whether he has publically bashed the Cats or not, isn't going to change my view on him.
You and me both Celtic. You said it better than I did when I tried to elaborate on my dislike of him. I'm sure this is the way most Cat fans on BN feel about him too.

Of course I care, I always support the bobcats (with one exception). Go back to previous years and you will find me wishing the cats success in lots of post.
You'll find the same this year. I'll start right now; it would be GREAT if you could win your game with OSU.

Catatac, first of all -- your "you don't agree with my view, so therefore you obviously don't understand my point" attitude is far more condescending than anything Hauck has ever been accused of saying. I don't care how you treat other posters, but if you want to discuss this with me, then please avoid sniping, juvenile comments like that one, k?

I guess my basic point is, all I read about from Cat fans are these accounts of all the "numerous, classless" comments Hauck has allegedly made toward MSU. To hear some of you talk, you'd think Hauck publicly says something negative about MSU practically every day. The only problem is, I haven't heard very many actual, documented examples of any of this, and the ones that I have heard just haven't been all that offensive, in my eyes.

Like I said before, I'm not Bobby's biggest fan, particularly because of his PR skills, but I do think that Cat fans have blown things a tad out of proportion.

Yeah, I've had a pretty rough past couple of weeks at work. Most of the clients I work for are energy companies, and ever since Bush's energy bill was enacted a few weeks ago, I haven't had much down time during the work day.

Vacation...umm, that sounds good. :)

Wow - exactly which part of my post was sniping and juvenile? I don't see it. All I stated was that you guys "don't understand the point we're trying to make"? Which is true. Maybe we're making a point that doesn't exist in your opinion but I don't see anything sniping and juvenile about what I posted. I think Bobby has made several classless comments about the bobcats. You don't agree. The ones we've provided haven't convinced you. You think we're blowing it all out of proportion - that is your opinion and I respect it. No problem. I think often times Bobby comes off as condescending and immature when he talks to the media. You won't convince me otherwise - maybe Bobby will this season.

Maybe I read a little more nastiness into your post than you intended, so I apologize for that. I just always get put off when I make an argument and the response is "well, you don't agree with me, so you obviously don't get it." The reality is, I get it just fine; I just don't agree with you.

GL- I can guarantee Bobby knew that was Kane. I played for 2 different head coaches and 3 different position coaches and one thing that never changed was that every player and COACH knew the names of ALL the players lined up on the other side of the ball! Especially all conference players! Bobby acted like he didn't know Kane's name to play down Kane’s reputation. Bobby made that comment in spite.

Oh I don't doubt that he *knew* it was Kane; I'm just not sold on the idea that he intentionally said it to put him down. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'm just not convinced.

I see Hauck as a guy who just isn't very good at handling the press yet, and who doesn't always think before he answers questions. For example, last year at the NC game, when he was asked whether coaching at UM was his dream job, and he answered that he would actually like to coach at the next level. If he had thought that particular quote through before answering the question, he probably would have realized that the answer was going to ruffle some feathers at UM, which I'm sure was not his intent, but the reality is that he just didn't think before he answered the question. I see this quote about Kane the same way -- not as an intentional insult, but just a clumsy quote given to the media.

Just my opinion, of course...

I might agree with you, GL, were it not for the # of times it appears to happen with Hauck regarding MSU. Read the article by Welsch that attempts to debunk Haucks "dislike" of anything related to MSU. One time, near the end of the article, I believe he utters the term "MSU" and you get the feeling that he'd rather have had a root canal than say that.

Even in his mild praise of one of the top quarterbacks in the history of the Big Sky, he says "Travis down in Bozeman" and doesn't even use both of Lulay's given names, but he does with Eric Meyer. It's this type of subtle disrespect that continually affirms to me how much BH has grown to loathe MSU.

Let me restate for the record: I LIKE that he feels this way about our program; I respect the Griz' football tradition but I don't have to respect any individual tied to it. If BH has this much hatred of MSU, that's ok by me.
