Wow.
As bad as the officiating in that game was, there is no basis for these type of actions.

I was not happy with the officiating.
But there is no excuse for this.....not cool.

Lame. Sure, the officiating was horrible (what else would you expect), but this type of behavior is bull____. Boo all you want, but keep it clean and leave it in the stadium. I hope someone gets to spend some time in the Bozeman pokey for the vandalism. A night or two would maybe send a message...

I had heard the officials had asked for an escort leaving the game; but didn't hear the vehicles were vandalized. Most of us don't even know where they park!
Fans need to remember no matter how bad the mistakes are on the field; that's where they stay.
The sideline judge making the bad call will get reviewed and possibly suspended if the films show the call was bad.
On a more positive note; Jefferson won't let a defensive player rip the ball away until he knows the play is over!

This is a shame. I know my emotions were running high while in the stadium. But, all were pretty much left there when the game finished. I think it's fair to say that all of us were still disgusted, but to actually take this kind of action is inexcusable.
As Mr. Fields mentioned, this looks very bad for our fan base and university as a whole. Not only that, but I can't imagine it helps in the calls department when the next set of officials visits our school. Which will be for the first round of the playoffs.

We are definitely going to have the officials on our side for the Griz/Cat showdown!
Big Sky Refs are like cops in the fact that if you mess with one of them, you mess with all of them. They don't forget stuff like this and will hold a grudge.

Ok ok ok, let's clear something up. I was tailgating in that area and saw what happened and from my perspective I didn't see vandalism.
Someone(I don't know who) put a potato in the exhaust of the officials vehicle so it wouldn't start. As soon as they turned the key and realized something was wrong someone I know walked over and cut it out for them.
While they were standing there waiting people shouted things like "Enjoy your week off next week" "That was a terrible call back judge", but I didn't see or hear anything more than that.
I am not saying that any of this is right, I am just pointing out that I didn't see vandalism and I didn't hear anything threatening or more than what the officials would hear during the game.
I just wanted to clear things up from what I saw before this gets blown way out of proportion.

Was that "someone" Axel Foley? Was he wearing a Mumford Phys. Ed. t-shirt? Wait, that was a banana. Never mind...

If they are true sportsmanship abiding referees they will not hold a grudge as this was caused by 1-2 stupid fans on our part. I would like to say that 99% of our fans would never do something like that and I would like to personally apologize to the referees involved. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR THAT IN SPORTS. Reffing is very hard and yes they do make mistakes (and yes if you do you probably get booed). That is the nature of the beast. But to go out of your way as a fan after the game is over and vandalize/verbally assault the referees is UNACCEPTABLE! I agree with Peter Fields. If you ever see anyone doing that alert security right away and maybe they can 86 fans like that for good from the premises FOR LIFE!

Really, nothing of theirs should have been touched by fans. I'm sure the officials were just looking to get out of there fast! A grudge? for a potatoe? nah.

I knew, as soon as I saw it, that that scene in Beverly Hills Cop would come back to bite our great country right in the ass.

Like everybody didn't think that before? I'm sure that Cal Poly feels the ref's were sampling a little home cookin'!

Like I have posted before. Playing in W/G stadium is like being a Butte Hooker on Saturday night, you know you are going to get screwed.

BS... That is BS!! I have been around football officiating for over 25 years... not a chance the officials will allow this type of thing to affect their integrity. You obviously have not been around officials to understand that they sure as hell want to get things right before they let a stupid mistake or choice cause coaches, players and fans to rake them over even worse. Yeah... no doubt there are mistakes made... and those that make them will either correct them or will get the boot by the director of officials for the conference. It is a classless act that was done by a very few idiots... most likely full of beer or whatever... and I think Fields letter was a class act in response, as is the comments by the vast majority of BobcatNation. Well done...

At the end of the day, it's up to the conference office to deal with any matters arising from the events on the field. As much as it hurts to say it, there has to be confidence in the Big Sky Conference leadership. ( I may need a 20 oz. beer to wash that down!) Hopefully it was no more than rtb stated. A little booing, (or a lot) is one thing. Public ridicule or acts of vandalism another. Vince Lombardi stated that teams should win with dignity. More importantly, if they lose, they should lose with dignity. Hopefully, the fans will handle themselves in the way of Lombardi. If it's good enough for Vince....

Who brings a potato to a football game? This sounds like it was planned ahead of time, just hoping the refs made bad calls so they could use the ol' potato trick.
I do agree that this is a totally asinine thing to do though, and makes all of our fans, athletic program, and town look very bad.
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Whatever?
The first time the Refs here "Eat S##T Grizzlies, Go Cats go!" The hankies will start flying.
