Why the CATS will beat the griz again...

Post by catatac » Sun Nov 05, 2006 6:50 pm

Kramer vs. Hauck
Rolovich to Jefferson - Turf
We're fighting for our lives... they're fighting for playoff seeding
Groves\Mason\Taito\Rolovich
Our D vs. their O... I really like the matchups
I'll be there

Those are just a few reasons... I'll think of more later - or feel free to add to it.

I said this in another thread awhile back, but I'll say it again.

The universe will take self-correcting measures to restore its equilibrium to offset the blunders the Cats made early in the season.

It's the way it was meant to be.

Honestly, I really don't know that this game will mean all that much to the griz as far as playoff seeding. Assuming they beat UNC next week, I think the griz have a seed pretty much locked up. Even if we beat them, does anyone think that a 9-2 griz team won't get a seed? I would say they would deserve one, even coming off a loss. That loss would be in a rivalry game against a top 15 team, no shame in that.

I think the Cats are fighting not only for their playoff lives, but for a home playoff game. We win, we get both.

I agree that the 'Cats are fighting for a playoff opening, but I hiughly doubt they would get a home playoff game, at least in the first round. I'd be elated, but I think Chadron State wiped that idea off the board.

Plus the record would shoe its in the 'Cats interest to play away games.

With a 1 or 2 seed we would play at home for for the post season, with the exception of the championship game. Thats huge.

The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

All home games, with the exception of the top four seeds, are by bid. Also, MSU and UM could not meet in the first round by rule. So, it is entirely possible for us to host a first round game.

The question that I have is that this weekend, we were talking about the bid process. Someone commented that private money can be used to pad the bid number. Is that true? It was mentioned that there is a bar in Missoula (the one with the goal post in it) that antes up quite a bit in non-seed years. Any truth to that?

let's not get ahead of ourselfs - CATs have to beat the griz to get in - that should be the only focus. Otherwise another 7 and 4 year and a boring, disappointing t-day with the in-laws!

You still didn't address Kramer versus Hauck.

I can only interpret that to mean you feel Hauck sucks like a Flowbie.

Not anymore than the Griz have played against the Cats defense. Against common opponents, both the offensive and defensive statistics give the appearance of an even matchup. The Griz defense is good, but come on, now.

It was supposed to be good last year and Groves didn't seem to have a great deal of trouble with it.

Many years ago, (late 80's, or early 90's) during one of our first Thanksgiving home game bids, The owner of the Press Box covered some of the bid, turned out they sold enough tickets that it didn't cost him, but he took the risk and offered to cover losses up to some point. Don't know if that can still be done, but where there's a will (and a rich guy) there's a way.
