One bad call can you can live with but when it takes away 7 points and leads to the other team scoring 7 it is unacceptable!!!!longhorn_22 wrote:Fire all BSC football referees.

I have NEVER been this mad at a call. FULLERTON DO SOMETHING, at the VERY least issue an apology to MSU. You never reprimand these referees, their job is the most secure in the country.

I've always thought that the ball went to the offensive player in a tie situation or a contested catch situation, like that at the end of the game. There is no doubt in my mind that Jefferson had that, and the replay showed it. One official called a touchdown if I recall. A similar call cost the Bobcats a game in 2002 (at ISU) and it could have done the same. I don't like to go off about officials or their calls, but I'm sure I taught some new words to kids when the call happened. The officiating crew had a decent game for 55 minutes. If this isn't an argument for replay in the Big Sky, I don't know what is.
GO CATS!

I'd give almost anything to hear the conference commissioner's explanation of that call after they review the tape. I didn't see a replay, But I also saw Jefferson catch the ball in the endzone and have posession.....play's over.....touchdown Cats! I don't think any grappling for the ball afterward should be material to the play.

Yeah, once he has it and has a foot down in the endzone the play is over. If it happens somewhere else on the field then I can see a possible interception but not in the endzone. It is similar when a player dives and gets the ball over the line and then fumbles. It is a TD once it crosses and everything after is dead. Plus the official that calls the INT is totally out of position and the one who has the best view call it a TD. Big Sky Officials have to be among the worst in the country.

Haven't all of you learned that the officials in the Big Sky (especially since Fullerton has been "in charge") are infallable? There are NO consequences for their horrible performances and there's nothing anyone (coaches, players, ADs, etc) directly affected by their ineptness can say or they get punished...what a joke!

Not trying to be a prick or throw smack into this discussion.........trust me that it is not my intention.........but wasn't there a questionable call last week in the Weber St/MSU game that, if would've went Weber's way would have helped seal a win for them? Did bad BSC-officiating possibly help the Cats that day?
I didn't see the play here in Florida but McBride was pretty upset about it and made that known.....resulting in a suspension for him. At least you can't blame Kramer for reacting in the press the way he did. He of anyone knows what can happen so I think it was damn smart on his part for saying what he said. In fact in might even be better. Could he have been attempting sarcasism when he said, "Good call"? There wouldn't really be anything the BSC gods could do about it. After all......as far as English goes.....he complimented the BSC officials on a great call. While at the same time he was telling everyone but a bunch of B.S. it was.
Thoughts?

I have never been a part of a student section that has booed and yelled at the refs in one continuous, collective chant as much and as long as we did today. I loved it and the refs deserved every bit of it. Not only was that touchdown call terrible, there were about 4 terrible calls in a row that screwed us. I am so tired of all of their bulshi* that there better be something done about it. They almost cost us the game.

I think that the difference between the Weber St. game is the fact that the correct call was made. It just came real late. If you watched the play they were moving and never set. This was just flat out the wrong call over rulled by the wrong official. That and one call went for us and one went against us.

Absolutely he was making a jab at the officials. Everyone in that stadium knew it was a bad call. When a WR catches the ball in the end zone, gets two feet down, THEN gets stripped, it is a touchdown.tampa_griz wrote: But what about the other point I brought up? Is it possible Kramer was making a jab at the officials without putting himself in jeapordy?

The line judge signaled TD, but was then overruled by the official.
Jefferson had it and didn't bobble it. He probably let off the ball when the line judge signaled TD.
Does anybody know how to start up a petition to Fullerton? It'd be nice to let him know we're serious and see if he has any spine and/or balls.
In response to Tampa Griz, there were bad calls against both teams last week, so it's not as if this one "evened the score."

It was TERRIFIC! The student side never seemed to stop booing. Even several plays after the terrible call. Did you notice that Kramer tried to silence the students? It looked like he was kind of waving or something. I was surprised, but that call was awful. I guess the only way to win against terrible refs is to outscore the opponent. We did, we won. way to go cats!!!
