If any of you caught the episode tonight called "Frozen Plains," it was filmed outside of Winifred. Really cheesy "plot," but very cool to see the scenery filmed so well ... even in the worst possible weather.

Yep, caught it and all I have to say is that it's about freaking time. The wife and I have been "discussing" why the survival shows never seem to pick a Montana winter. Even though the whole "rancher burns down shelter" idea was a little silly, it was pretty cool to see.
Now, if the powers that be would just decide to film an entire season of Survivor on Georgetown Lake (or some other relatively remote lake in the state) in January/February, then we'd be in business. I've had enough of the tropical climate BS...show me a group of people figuring out how to survive in 15 below and CBS might actually catch my interest again.

Take a trip to Inuvik Canada. They still hunt mid winter with sled dogs and kill whales in Kayaks.

I've thought the same thing about Survivor. I quit watching after a couple seasons because I got tired of the tropical stuff ... although it does look good on a few of the better looking women. But I'm much more interested in what seems like "real" survival conditions, which have to include some frigid weather.

I don't know if you caught it or not but it looked to me like Wade might have been wearing a Taffy Ridge Ranch hat in the opening as well. Just a tidbit for you Brad.

I'll have to re-watch it and check that out. If so, we better get those trademarked ASAP!
