Veterans...and Bobcats!

Post by WolfPtCat » Thu Nov 18, 2010 4:39 pm

I sent out an email last week to my personal email list in honor of Veteran's Day. All the Vets listed are either family members, hometown friends (Wolf Point) or fraternity brothers. 10 out of the 14 are Bobcats.

Check out the follow-up email.

Date: Wed, 10 Nov 2010 13:48:51 -0700

Happy Veteran's Day to all my friends & family that served in the multiple branches of our military. Thank you very much, from the bottom of my heart, for your service.

Thank you,

Shane Courchene
Wade Austin
Lucas Kennedy
Stephan Fabaz
Brian Dickerson
Ryan Casne
Chad Huston
Todd Mortag

Please keep all our military men & women in your prayers as they a continue to serve us overseas and at home. Special thanks to for the safe return of Lucas Kennedy & Shane Courchene who have recently come back from Iraq & Afghanistan. Please keep Paul Tostenrud, MD for the Navy, in your prayers. He is getting ready to deploy for a year to Afghanistan, to accompany a Marine Corps division. Please ask that he stay safe and that his hands be guided to keep those Marines in his care safe.

Thank you & AEKDB,

Follow-up email:

I got these responses from a couple of the current combat Vets on the list below. I'm sure they didn't want everyone see these.
But, this just goes to show you why we have the greatest country (and military) in the world.....hands down!

"My Pleasure, brother"

and

"Thanks Jeff - I am doing what I love and serving with an enormous amount of passion. Each day when I wake up - I take a minute to think about what I do and who I help protect.......to know I am a part of somethig so much greater than myself - it always renews my enthusiasm - jumping to a deeper level and to be quite frank - When ****** sucks and seems ridiculous I tell myself and the man upstairs "I do this so my family or friends don't have to - so my son and daughter will live in a better world when I am gone."

Stay safe fellas,
and in honor of what week it is....Go Cats!
AEKDB,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
This is very strange, but while searching for info on my dad I ran across your posting and saw my father's name. I don't know if you're related by blood, but you are a Kappa Sigma brother. My father is Harry Rodenberg who served in WWII from 1942 to 1945, born in St. Louis, MO in 1925. I'm a 1986 graduate of San Jose State and a Kappa Sigma Alum. Interested in hearing a reply.
Best regards,
Gordon Rodenberg
