EF get's their stage win. Good for them! Vander Poel back in yellow (very temporary)

Yeah it was weird to see Pogacar sprint at the end when they were clearly giving the yellow away. Probably Visma messing with UAE and forcing Tadej to respond.

But isn’t that why we love watching cycling…there’s always statements being made and little digs being put in. Clearly UAE was not going to burn their matches on this stage. I found in fascinating that Quinn Simmons didn’t get any help from the guy he was riding with when Healy was only 1 min up the road. Those two could have easily caught him IF they both were pulling. I knew as the time went up that Simmons wasn’t getting any help from the other guy. He tried to gap him once that I saw but didn’t quite have the legs to hold it. At any rate, they rode a nice race and it was good to see Simmons put his nose in the wind.

Actually my first thought was that I think Cavendish’s record probably will be broken by Tadej. Hope Almeida is ok. Jonas looked strong.

I imagine Tadej breaks every record including Armstrong's "unofficial" 7 tour wins. I feel like he's holding back just so the rest of the field doesn't look too foolish.

I felt like Pogacar rode a very intelligent stage. He didn’t burn too many matches and was very efficient. Clearly Jonas is strong enough to hang, but I don’t know if he has the head and legs to beat Pog…even for a stage win. We are up for a sprinter stage today, so the storyline on Bini G will show if he’s on form this year.

I haven’t seen today’s stage yet, but Binni better get on it. Today and tomorrow are the last sprint stages. Take advantage of having Phillipsen gone.

The last Italian sprinter I can remember was Super Mario Cippolini. This kid, Milan, is a lot different, but way too good looking. It's just not fair.

Yeah, he’s not anywhere close to last years form. Maybe that confrontation on the second day is in his head. At any rate he’s not going to get green.

I sure hope so. I loved it when he sort of accidentally won the Vuelta a couple years ago. Sometimes I think he's too unselfish.

I think you will see a lot of Kuss & Jorgensen up the road a lot in the mountains, but will they be the 1st lieutenants for Pog & Viggo, which could really help them place highly if they are the last escorts by their sides or will they be used for pre attacks to soften up the other contenders, but will juice them before the finish.

I sure hope so. I loved it when he sort of accidentally won the Vuelta a couple years ago. Sometimes I think he's too unselfish.

Their role was never going to be, particularly with Sepp, to have him slogging it out on the flats and riding tempo. It’s been to survive, stay out of crashes and save your legs until we start to climb. The first two mountain stages with long pulls will show Sepp on the front in the upper 1/2 of the mountain. Mateo however is more of an all rounder and so he’s been slowly climbing up the charts. Visma is not going to win on the flats, save the TT’s which of course didn’t go their way. But now, we shall see if the horsepower is there to challenge UAE in a serious way.
