Word on the street down here in Dallas is that Nico Harrison will be fired today. I don't follow the NBA but know he caught serious heat after the Luka Doncic trade. Hopefully, he can stay in or near the NBA.

Rightfully so, that trade is looking worse and worse by the day. Anthony Davis just can't stay healthy anymore. Bring in a new voice to help rebuild around Cooper Flagg who they lucked into.

I'm probably misremembering but weren't the rumors he was told he had to move Doncic and that was probably the best deal he could get mid-season like that? He's probably just the scapegoat.

I heard the opposite, that it was entirely orchestrated by Nico and the ownership went along with it not realizing how severe the backlash would be.

At the time this trade was made, this Laker fan thought it was a very poor move by Nico and the Mavericks—trading a generational player for an aging, often-injured big man who’s clearly past his prime, plus some spare parts. I’m not surprised that Nico lost his job, but I still believe he’s the sacrificial lamb for Dallas. Others were involved in approving this trade, and they should also be held accountable. If heads were going to roll over this blunder, Nico deserved to be the first, but there should be a few more people standing in the unemployment line this morning.

He did light a fire in Luka who appears in better shape and playing at high level. There was something off with him at the end in Dallas.
