I REALLY like this kid's game. Good size, plays above the rim, blocks, rebounds, and on the one free throw shown, his form looks good. Solid signing, gives me some hope. Just hope he sticks around and isn't poached...MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 7:53 amThere's a rarity these days, a highlight video in which the player doesn't shoot a single three pointer! Some of these high school players have to be falling through the cracks a little with so many college programs recruiting heavily from the portal these days.
Even if he is eventually poached at least it means he developed into a good player before it happened. I agree the film looks great although the level of competition he's playing against is hard to assess.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 11:59 amI REALLY like this kid's game. The conference counts regular season titles and tournament titles as separate items, so there are 2 countable titles each year. In the past 4 years, MBB won 3 tournament titles and 1 regular season title.Cats and Dogs wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 11:03 am"4 BSC Championships last 4 seasons".msu_agfan wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 7:14 amAccording to this article, it looks like Logie has wrapped up the roster for this fall's team.

I think there’s been at least one freshman that never saw the court transfer out in the last two seasons, so I’m not sure there’s a guarantee the big schools are allowing them to develop before the are poached. I’m worried that the bigger schools are asking high school players to accept scholarships at Big Sky level schools so they can get one year of development on someone else’s dime. I honestly don’t know if it’s worth Logie’s time recruiting high school kids because of that.MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 2:01 pmEven if he is eventually poached at least it means he developed into a good player before it happened. I don't recall a MSU player going to a big school after their true freshman year. Trap Johnson is going to UC San Diego, a good program but in terms of their conference affiliation pretty close to the Big Sky level. We don't know the reasons behind his decision to transfer but I certainly doubt it has much to do with a step up in his level of competition. I'd argue that recruiting high school players is still extremely valuable, since so many larger programs focus so much on portal players that means that some high school players are still out there to be signed that a Big Sky team may not have had a chance to get in the past.MinnesotaBobcat wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 10:18 pmI think there’s been at least one freshman that never saw the court transfer out in the last two seasons, so I’m not sure there’s a guarantee the big schools are allowing them to develop before the are poached. Unfortunately, a lot of high end teams are actively rebuilding rosters every year. There was a graphic about the teams that made the Sweet 16 and how their rosters were built. It was amazing how many teams were composed of portal transfers. My recollection was almost every team featured a key transfer (like a starter) and the majority had more than two transfers starting. I can’t remember which team, but their starting five was all portal transfers.
We're all those transfers from same year like Indiana will have to do, or over multiple years where they pick up 2 or 3 a year and end up with 6 or 7 main playersCataholic wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 11:37 amUnfortunately, a lot of high end teams are actively rebuilding rosters every year. It didn’t say, but I recall at least one team had all new starters and they were all in their first year with the team. Terrible way to run a program but some of the high profile programs can get away with it since they have NIL money and put kids in the pros.tetoncat wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 12:48 pmWe're all those transfers from same year like Indiana will have to do, or over multiple years where they pick up 2 or 3 a year and end up with 6 or 7 main playersCataholic wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 11:37 amUnfortunately, a lot of high end teams are actively rebuilding rosters every year. He can REALLY finish at the rim, and not just with point blank dunks -- he has a really nice soft touch. I am impressed!grizzh8r wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 11:59 amI REALLY like this kid's game.
