Class of 26 WBB
Have we offered anyone?
Griz got a commitment today from Avory Decoite. I'm happy for Nate getting promoted but I think we're not just an automatic anymore on the best players in the state coming here. Yes she's a Big Sky girl but we've been poaching players from Missoula since Selvig left. I don't see where she holds any other offers from her social media.
And I'm saying this not knowing anything about Avory and her skill.

Gallatin High Jada Davis has also been offered (for a while now) by Montana State. She lead AA in Points, and Steals. Was named AA State Tourney MVP. Has over 1,000 Points through 3 years. That's right. It's been a day. I shouldn't probably be on BN.arvcat2 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 12:09 pmMadison O’Connor committed last November.lutecat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 11:54 amHave we offered anyone?

Mason Quinn of Frenchtown, at 6-2, holds an offer from the Cats too.SACCAT wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 2:35 pmGallatin High Jada Davis has also been offered (for a while now) by Montana State. Re: Class of 26 WBB
Montana girls have taken a lot of talent out of state — I was always surprised by how many were out and about. I think it really means something when Trish and Sunny make an offer. Perhaps some of the cream of the crop will come our way. I think Taylee’s year with the ‘Cats should have made a lot of people pay attention.

Re: Class of 26 WBB
Colter tweeted that there are 2 other MT girls on the team. It didn't translate to success this last year. Is Jody not a great coach or were there other things making them not a top 5 BSC team?

Re: Class of 26 WBB
I think she's a very good coach, they were Big Sky regular season and tournament champions in '23-'24 and much like MSU against Ohio State this year they gave Oregon State a pretty good game in the first half in the NCAA tournament before OSU pulled away in the second half. Definitely a bit of a transition year for them since they lost a ton of talent from their championship roster. They didn't have a great record overall but easily could have won both games they played against the Bobcats, they had a 4th quarter lead during the game in Bozeman and had a great look to send the game in Cheney to OT that didn't fall.

Re: Class of 26 WBB
I believe both MT girls at EWU were freshman and were very good. Grossman was freshman of the year in the BSC and McElmurry was a contributor off the bench.

Re: Class of 26 WBB
EWU was ranked 10th in the Big Sky in FG %, and 8th in Assists. They had a strong team, but (like many teams in Big Sky last year) had a very hard time putting a total game together. They would play lights out one quarter, and then go flat the next... It happens with young teams quit a bit (3 of their top players were Freshman). There was also a lot of turnover from years past, so add that into it as well. I feel that they did a good job of holding onto the young talent from last year, and will be a force next year.rivercat wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 10:52 amI believe both MT girls at EWU were freshman and were very good. Guessing this is Heidi Smith and Courtney Smith, twin sisters listed here as transferring to MSU from Toledo.
