Maybe I’m alone on this one, but I think the Starch Madness marketing tagline for the tourney is lame and cringy. Dad puns are fun in the office, but let’s leave them there.

Totally lame. They swung and missed big time on this one.

I think it's a little silly but if they can squeeze out a few extra drops of national media attention from using it and putting the name on merchandise then I say good for the conference for trying something new. Complaining about it seems a little too "fun police" to me, let players celebrate and let conferences create goofy nicknames for their tournaments if they want!

I think maybe you’re reading too much into my comment. I’m not saying any of those things shouldn’t be allowed. I’m just saying, in my personal opinion, starch madness missed the mark.

I can't come up with anything better so why not? Brawl of the wild is much worse. I can come up with something better, Cat/Gris.

IMO Starch Madness is great. I also love how the MVC is Arch Madness (held in St Louis). If we were a bigger legacy conference I would agree that it would be kind of cringy, but it works great for a one-bid conference like the Big Sky. Having an actual brand name for our conference tournament is great for the conference

But people are asking,,,,does the Starch Madness tagline give an unfair motivational advantage to the potato head teams out in Idaho?

It's really dumb if you are an idiot like me and it took me 15 minutes to get the starch/potato reference.

The Colonial Athletic Association should adopt March Plaidness as their tagline

Last year, I thought Starch Madness meant the Big Sky tourney was the
start of M
arch (Starch) madness, since it was the first tourney to begin. I guess I didn’t get it either. Of course, I'm also the guy that took two years before realizing Finish the Grind (FTG) also meant something else.

Agreed. I told my wife that it means nothing to anyone out of the spud areas, and is pretty lame if you do get it. I wonder how much they paid for that and how much they’ll now pay for a new one?

Great game so far, up 20 at the half. Nice to see Marah back in there, she's such an important player.

We’ve got them outnumbered in fans by about I’d say 20:1
John Stockton and Darian White in the building. Who’s more famous to Bobcat fans?

You are really getting some good mileage out of that sign. I hope you are keeping track of which games it's been at and how many miles it's traveled.
