I was disappointed for Cat/griz they didn't bring out the fireworks they used to shoot off for the men's games that ive been to. Hopefully they do that this last game.

How much do you think sponsorship costs?

Does anyone wonder why Ella Johnson is a starter and gets 20 minutes a game, but only infrequently scores points? Well, I’d like to put the spotlight on that.

For those of you who follow +/- there is an answer! Using the Portland St. game as an example, Ella scored 0 points but was the leader in +/- at 26! That’s right. In the 20 minutes that Ella played the ‘Cats outscored the Vikings by 26 points! You have to look at +/- pretty much by starters and bench, as your +/- is affected by the group you play with. Natalie Picton was second with +25 in 23 minutes, had 14 points and was the leading scorer.

This tells me that Ella has a big impact on defense and helping her teammates score. To improve your team’s score by 26 points while scoring none simply means her floor game is extremely strong. Ella had 6 rebounds (2 offensive), 4 assists, and 2 steals (officially) in those 20 minutes. She’s listed with no blocks, but like others here, it looked like she had maybe two, including that Sam Lecholat-style rejection. This is not the first time that Ella has registered this kind of impact.

Good luck, Ella. We see what you are doing. You are an amazing Bobcat.

Wow that stat is impressive.
Ella rips down rebounds as well as any of the Cats and ties up opponents for jump balls and makes her fair share of steals too.
The part of her game that I love to watch is her court vision and how she throws rocket passes so often for assists.
When she gains the same confidence in her shot as she has in her passes and the rest of her game she will become as complete a player as you could ask for, and watch out then.

And just like that, Ella opens up the game with points!

Cats up 38-31 at the half but Sac hit two 3s in the last 30 seconds to make it closer. Just a suggestion, maybe guard #20 a bit closer in the second half if possible. She's 5-5 from 3 and Sac has 9 as a team. Only 4 points scored from shots other than 3s.

They should definitely check her tighter. I'm confident that they won't shoot that well in the second half. Sacramento is 30 feet above sea level. Their legs are going to get heavy.

Ella came out of the locker room wearing what looks like a back brace. I don't know why but I hope she's okay.

Hate to see this kind of end to a stellar season. Hurt key players sure didn't help this one.

Honestly, it would have been nice to finish with an undefeated season, but this loss could benefit them going into Boise. Time to regroup and fire up. It's good to know they can be beat. A little humble pie is not always a bad thing.

Sac State played a great game. Cats definitely did not. I’m a silver lining guy, this may prove to be something the Cats needed. Absolute proof they can’t coast to the NCAA tourney.

They really went away from the press, not sure why. Just was a weird vibe game for the Cats.
