Wonderful to see KJ Limardo!
But, oh what ugly basketball. ‘Cats came apart with Picton on the bench with fouls and Egan not in for awhile. The defense is finally getting turnover after turnover, but we have no concept of how to then get it into the basket. Nice steal and coast-to-coast by Ella again. Coach Bin looking might grim as she stormed off toward the locker room, much faster than usual. Go, ‘Cats. This thing is winnable.

Whoever is calling this game sounds like they spent halftime in the parking lot smoking something good.

Great to have Limardo back! Dykstra w/ a buzzer 2 & Janssen hit 3’s at the end of the game & Picton w/ clutch free throws. Dykstra absolutely killing it the last 3 games.
Total team effort & defence. Congrats ladies! Final 62-61

Career high for Dykstra 21 pnts/5 rebs/3 assists
Limardo 14 pnts/4 rebs/2 steals
Hall 10 pnts/6 rebs/1 block
Picton 8 pnts/2 assists/3 steals

That's the way this team wins. They have no pure shooters and scoring points can be a struggle. But their length and effort on defense can keep the games winnable.
I thought it was a great effort and gutsy win. Go Cats!

This might be one of Tricia’s better efforts in coaching. Big roster turnover and working with a lot of young players.

I was just thinking that tonight. On any night a more talented team might just get out coached by Tricia Binford and lose.

I've thought for a while, that once Dykstra figures out how good she really is, the rest of the league will be in trouble. It could be happening!!!

100% agree. Selfless w/ her assists & vision for her teammates but now Dykstra’s looking at the basket & realizing no post in the Big Sky is fast enough to guard her. She doesn’t take a lot of mid-range shots but those are money. Dykstra’s figuring out how powerful she really is & we get to see her evolve

So excited for the entire Bobcats team getting better w/ each game.
Binford has to be the Coach of the Year w/ all the changes from last season to this season and then throughout this season. Absolutely impressive what her & her coaching staff has done physically & mentally w/ this young group!

Ella and Mara are going to be a problem front court for the Big Sky for a while. and we get Lexi back next year.

What a great win!!!!!!!! Barely led all game until it mattered. Our road record was miserable, still is, but what a step in the right direction. Mara Dykstra is turning the corner. She could be a monster once she realizes she can.
Side note: I hate announcers that act like every basket is the biggest thing since Naismith put up a peach basket. Less is more.

The dude was actually knowledgeable, more so about MSU than about any other color guy this year. He very clearly explained our roster losses to all causes and is the first one to talk about our height in detail. The play-by-play — not so good.
Wow, that was a fun game! That’s as pure a shot as I’ve ever seen Dykstra release — she was aware of the clock and had no time to think. Too bad it was ruled a 2.99 pointer. It was called a three and they overruled it on some shaky evidence (not by rule) but I think they probably got it right.
I had great confidence in our team mounting a comeback charge — but it looked like it might have been a little too late. But those three-pointers by Taylor and Marah were 10% of our scoring for the night. I will give the Eagles’ guards credit — they are super-quick and can shoot and pass and play really sticky defense. Natalie really struggled with them with her offense, and seemed to dribble more and got us deep into the shot clock — but a good learning experience for her. She was money at the line and that’s not easy on the road. Special congratulations to Madison Hall. Her jumper just wouldn’t fall early, but she did everything else at a high level. She was really disruptive to their offense, and kept us in the game while Picton was out and Egan struggled a bit.
If that was a legit 16-4 team, we pulled off an amazing road win. I don’t call them upsets anymore, as I feel like we can still win anywhere. What a job by the old coaches, and the new coaches! Proud to be a fan.

DId anyone notice that the announcers made the decision to name the EWU guard the "player of the game?" They did that with 2 minutes to go. She had 13 points at the time and I believe Dykstra had 19, and she ended up with 21. Hilarious.
