A very modest two game winning streak-but there appears to be some improvement going on. MSU beats CSU Bakersfield 71-67 with some clutch freethrow shooting from Blount. Bakersfield isn't a big time opponent or anything-just a couple of years removed from D-2, but they were 4-1 and red hot coming in here.

I concur with both of you. The game flow and ploddingness affected my game story, which is now affecting my mood as I do the postgame stuff. It was a good game for X, who stepped in as Rod struggled all night to lead this team. The fouls turned out to be 49 total, and I think Dison was being called way too conservatively. The calls against the freshman, I think, led to Rod getting that intentional foul in a subconscious way.

My take on Rod is that he sometimes tries to do too much himself....he's the point guard not the small forward! Time and again he tries to handle the ball in the paint a and go around or through bigger people and never looks to dish! If he would learn to use the other players when he drives he might not get so frustrated!
