Mitchell Schwab MBB signing

Post by TomCat88 » Wed Aug 24, 2011 7:55 am

BOZEMAN, Mont. – Mitchell Schwab, a 6-4, 195 lb forward who played high school basketball in Idaho Falls and Wyoming, has joined the Bobcat basketball program as a walk-on for the 2011-12 season, according to MSU coach Brad Huse.

Schwab prepped at Bonneville High in Idaho Falls in 2006-07 before transferring to Star Valley High in Afton, Wyo., for his senior season in 2007-08. After graduation he served a two-year LDS Mission, and in the fall of 2010 enrolled in West Hills Community College in California. He comes to MSU with four years of eligibility.

“Mitchell is an older, more mature player,” Huse said. “Once he gets acclimated to our program we expect him to provide leadership and a good physical presence.”

Rumors that Antonio Biglow might have problems is par for the course! Every time we have a potential star going to grace our Basketball court, something happens. I harken back to the power forward from Minnesota back in the 90's that was coming until he was ruled ineligible or got thrown in jail or something! How many players have we had signed and then changed their mind or broke their leg or got arrested or signed with someone else before they actually got here? the signing list seems to change monthly....then when we go to the first game we find a whole new group of players we don't know!

Biglow is said to be going to join the team in January, If he does I do not know if he will be active or redshirted (can he be redshirted?) but that is the rumor as it now stands.

Any ideas why he won't be playing until then? Academic issues?

I have not heard anything official or unofficial but this sounds like he still has not nailed down his Associate Degree yet.
