Feels like one of the Bobcat football teams' seasons. This team had the makings to compete for the conference championship. Being down to eight players for the rest of the season will be tough on this team.
It will be fun to watch this ironman(woman) team for the rest of the season.

MSU women beat UNC tonight, 84-75. This is with eight healthy players and against a team coming off a win in Missoula on Thursday. Very impressive, but you have to wonder just how long they can physically keep this going for.

I think that I will just appreciate this ladies team no matter what their record ends up. Coach Binford has this group playing really well and we are playing a lot of young players.

This may sound weird, but sometimes losing the amount of players you have (less substitutions patterns) can actually make the chemistry on a team go up. The 5-8 players that play learn to play better with each other. It does affect depth as far as conditioning, but I know on our YMCA/City League teams we seem to play better with only having like 1-2 subs versus 3-5 as players can get settled in and know their roles etc.BelgradeBobcat wrote:They keep losing players and keep winning games. This is a valid point. I would think it could come into play toward the end of the season and it can affect what you want to accomplish at practice. I'm a couple days late, but this team is conditioned to play forever. Plus, when you looked at the roster this year and last year, there were only 7 or 8 that got into a real heavy rotation... injuries have forced this team to not only play an almost-ironwoman full game, but has gotten several players time they probably wouldn't have had with a "fuller" (10 to 12 person) team. I really think it'll be a good thing looking to the future, and they are looking for extra bodies around campus to help with practices, if nothing else. This team has been decimated by injuries, but has become closer and, in a sense, stronger, because of it.

Really sorry to hear of the injury problems. Wish you luck and all for the following rest of the season. With Banis healthy you guys were looking as if you were going to run away with the conference championship and all. Too bad she wasn't recruited as a LGriz; she would have been really needed and helpful. Oh well. You sure got a good one there and I hope she fully recovers to 100 %. Wish ya luck!!!
