OGDEN, UTAH (Nov. 16, 2010) - Montana State forward Bobby Howard has been selected as the first Big Sky Conference men’s basketball player of the week of the 2010-11 season.   

Howard, a 6-foot-7 senior from Great Falls, Mont., averaged 16 points and nine rebounds per game, leading the Bobcats to a 2-1 record at the University of Hawai’i Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic. Howard was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Howard capped the Bobcats’ tournament by scoring 18 points with 14 rebounds in an 80-76 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Monday. Howard made 8-of-18 shots from the field.    Howard scored 13 points with four rebounds, three steals and two assists on Saturday night in a 65-58 overtime victory over Central Michigan. Howard was 5-of-11 from the floor. Central Michigan was selected second in its division in the preseason MAC poll.   

Howard opened the tournament with 17 points, nine rebounds and a block in a loss to host Hawaii.

Mike Proctor, F, Northern Colorado: Scored 11 points with 10 rebounds in a win.
Melvin Jones, G, Portland State: Scored 23 points with five assists in a win.
Alpha N’Diaye, C, Sacramento State: Scored 16 points with eight rebounds in a loss.
Damian Lillard, G, Weber State : Scored 28 points in a loss.
