just curious what your thoughts are on both our class as well as the griz class of recruits this year. on paper this is one of the better classes i've seen msu have in quite some time. i also don't recall a time where both us and the griz seemed to have such strong classes in the same year. obviously the game is played on the court and not on paper, but what say you?

Does anyone know if these young men who red shirted last year are still on the roster? Colt Idol (Whitefish), Steven Davis (Billings), and Jeff Budinich (SeaTac). I understand that Colt had a knee injury. Hoping that that has heeled and these athletes will be ready to go for MSU.

I talked to Leo last night and he said his brother is loving school, basketball and the whole MSU experience.

First question

I think this is the best recruiting class top to bottom since Huse has been at MSU. The class that featured Mbunga and Howard was pretty good but their was some clunkers in their but this looks very good. I also like the diversity of this class. Down the line 3-4 years I could see a starting line featuring 5 of these guys and no one playing out of Position

The Griz also looks very good, except I keep hearing rumors that teams are trying to poach (class gem) Kareem Jamar and that could really effect the class. Reader has had a great year and could be the next great griz big man.

Second question

Budinich is a redshirt scholarship player and as far as I know should be back

Idol, Davis, and even Louff were walk-ons with Idol and Davis being redshirts. I can not remember a walk-on coming back for a second year since Casey Durham did it quite a few years ago. Still I am getting every indication that all three will return next year. Idol, wants the opportunity to prove himself after having to sit out with a knee injury, Davis has a great additude and is willing to put in the work, and Louff has an opportunity to contribute big time next year. Walking on to a D-1 program is tough especially with the off season work that the coaches expect.

thanks. pretty much my line of thinking as well. if the griz can keep jamar i think they'll have an amazing class. i just don't see it happening. hopefully for them i'm wrong.
