66-62 loss to Southern Miss after blowing a 13-point second half lead. We really need Bynum and especially Navarre out there. A made free throw might help as well...

The team played well. They had a very athletic team on the ropes for most of the game. Defensively, we haven't looked this good in years (decades) and offensively we are sharing the rock at a pace that keeps you looking for the next cutter rather than the ball.

Four missed FTs at the end hurt, but they were the only four. Finishing from under the hoop is weak also.

This team is solid, fast and wise. A good year ahead for sure.

I really thought this could be the game that the Bobcats really got it handed to them without Bynum and Navarre. I think S. Miss is really a solid team and they seemed to be set up to take advantage of their quicker , deeper and more athletic interior people, not to mention size. Plus they had more depth at the guard. For most of the game I was pretty proud of our play, the last 10 minutes or so... it all seemed to fall apart though. I am not ready to start projecting anything year it is still too early to even start thinking about that, but we need Bynum and Navarre, to come in start pulling their weight, and provide a boost for this team!

That 15-0 run or whatever it was horrid. It was really hard to watch. They should have won this game with ease. I left with a pretty sick feeling in my stomach from this whole weekend of games.

Cats2000... have to agree. Tough weekend for Bobcat fans as we went 0-3. I watched the game too and felt good about some aspects of the Cat game. Good shooters, patient, pretty solid defense considering they were out manned greatly in quickness and jumping ability, good performance being short handed without two of their senior premier players, I like the development of the depth because of being shorthanded, and though they played poorly during SM's 15-2 run they battle back and put themselves in a postion to win, so I like the determination, and depite being out quicked to the ball they battled on the board pretty well, and I liked the effort of Cody as it seemed he worked his butt off and Austin had an impact as he seem to handle their quickness better. I was not impressed many of the turnovers (although the quickness of SM was impressive and caused some of them) as it seemed some were just not being mentally into the game at times, I did not like the dibbling and more dribbling by Rush at the top of the key time and again... off ball movement and off ball screening along with passing create open chances, not dibbling forever at the top of the key; he is a very good player but that hurt the team in my opinion; and we need to have better focus on free throws when the going gets tight (although overall we shot nicely.) Just some of my thoughts.

I like out team... when we get everyone back I think we have a chance to be very good. Best of Luck CATS for a solid year!

Yeah, I was pretty down immediately after the game last night (hence the somewhat sarcastic thread title), but we really do have a chance to be pretty good this year once we can get back to full strength. I think they really need Navarre in there, as Louff showed flashes of good play but struggled at other times, especially with ball handling. I'm a little bit worried how much we depended on the 3-point shot last night. Hopefully we can get an inside game going for when the 3's aren't falling.

What was the reason for the suspensions? I don't remember hearing anything about them.

NCAA rules on a tourney or something they played in over the summer.
