I am hearing rumblings that another big man transfer may have committed. Little shocked given the coach situation. A Bobcat may be a Bobcat

Wow, that's interesting to hear! Do you know who's acting as the interim head coach during the search process?

Bobcat -> Bobcat. Texas State. Ohio University. I think.

Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
Seems a little odd that transfers would be committing to a school without a head coach in place...but if we're looking for a big man "Bobcat to Bobcat" transfer the most likely candidate would seem to be 6'8" Nate Martin of Texas State. Averaged 8 PPG, 5 RPG last year and has two years of eligibility to play.

Okay Day 1 who are we after? Can the coach lure anyone back?

Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
Maybe Gazelas could be lured back? As far as I'm aware he hasn't committed anywhere yet. Seems unlikely that anyone else would return, Brown and Osobor seem like virtual locks for Utah State and Battle is receiving a bunch of interest from Power 5 schools.GrizgradCatFan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 7:11 pmOkay Day 1 who are we after? You'd probably look to the Point Loma roster for immediate incoming transfer targets.

Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
He will only go after those players that fit the system he wants yo run. I suspect it will be significantly different than last years system which had a lot of old school aspects. I expect a more fluid offense and more touches per possession. The defense will remain stiff.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

I imagine we'll start hearing some news about transfers and targets pretty soon. We need... a lot.

Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
I have been watching and listening, but the only name I have heard we could be interested in is Yarin Hasson 6-9 of Connecticut. I heard this on the same day of Logie's press conference, so I thought it was a good sign that he hit the ground running. Now I am not sure if that was a holdover from Sprinkle. Jackson Grant the commit we had (before Sprinkle left) from Washington has not signed anywhere and I hear Logie may be talking to him but I can not confirm. As far as I can tell Clarence Daniels II a transfer from New Hampshire, who was on campus for a visit (before Sprinkle left) has not signed anywhere and neither has Kiree Huie the 6-9 center from Odessa JC who committed again previously to Sprinkle before uncommitting.GrizgradCatFan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 4:45 amAny ideas on recruits? I have been seeing a ton of Griz offers (and a couple commits) to transfers the past two weeks but almost nothing (only Hasson) for the Montana State.

I am hearing that we have a good chance to retain Robert Ford III. That would give us some returning horsepower in the backcourt.

Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
That would be great news! I'm also anxious to find out what Raequan Battle does, after seeing his list of interested schools and scheduled visit to WVU this weekend it seems highly unlikely he'd consider returning...but it was rather interesting to see him participate in the team "huddle" after the press conference last week along with Ford and the other returning players.

Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
Battle has a visit or two scheduled, I think it'll be hard to keep a guy after they see what other schools have to offer. Although he is from U Wash so maybe that won't wow it like it would someone who has never seen top tier facilities before.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 8:22 amThat would be great news! Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
I agree, seems like a done deal especially if he'll be able to transfer with immediate eligibility. I just found it rather interesting to see him participating in the press conference in that way if he knows 100% that he isn't going to play for MSU next year.CelticCat wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 8:26 amBattle has a visit or two scheduled, I think it'll be hard to keep a guy after they see what other schools have to offer. Re: 2023 - MBB Possible Incoming Transfer List
Pure speculation but I think he's giving Logie a legit chance to recruit him. I don't know Battle personally but I think he made a lot of connections through his Native American heritage at MSU and by all accounts that is very important to him, so if he ends up really likes Logie and wants to maintain those relationships, there's a shot...MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 8:36 amI agree, seems like a done deal especially if he'll be able to transfer with immediate eligibility. We may not hear a lot from the recruiting trail just either until Logie figures out who he can recruit back to MSU. If he can get Battle back I mean you recruit a roster around him.
