Grand Canyon play Southern Utah this evening for the WAC championship. Bobcats opened with a loss at Grand Canyon but beat Southern Utah on November 30th in Cedar City. I see Southern Utah(105) is right behind MSU(104). What's the best outcome as far as MSU is concerned?

I doubt there is a best outcome as Grand Canyon is also ranked very similarly (112) to MSU and SUU. If the committee looks at head to head results then maybe it's better for SUU to win since MSU beat them but lost to GCU.

USA Today has MSU 14 vs Gonzaga 3 in Denver.
CBS Jerry Palm expert has MSU 15 VS Texas 2 in Sacramento.

Here's a pretty cool site I found that compiles a bunch of different bracket projections together. Virtually everyone has MSU as a 15 seed at the moment.

This is why out of conference games matter, in my judgment. Not so much the win/loss record, but the quality of opponent. Playing tough teams should ostensibly get the BSC team a better seed come tourney time. We can't control the RPI of other teams in the league, but we can control who we play before the league starts.

The opponents that seem to keep popping up on the mock brackets for MSU are Texas, Baylor, Gonzaga, Arizona, Marquette, and UCLA. Safe bet that we play one of those teams. I would prefer UCLA or Gonzaga simply because I am a fan of West Coast teams. I honestly don't think we'll get blown out by Arizona, UCLA or Gonzaga. I was at the game this year in Tucson and we didn't look outclassed.

UCLA wouldn't be a bad draw at all given they've had a couple injuries to key players recently. That said, I was watching the Big 12 championship last night and kept thinking "Please don't make them play Texas, please don't make them play Texas"...so that's who it'll probably be.
