Yup. At least we ended their 7 game losing skid for them, which started after they beat us at home. Wake me up when it's football season.BelgradeBobcat wrote:you have to suck pretty bad to lose to EWU twice...

I hate EWU more than ANY other team in the sky. Somehow they always find a way to beat us, even when on paper we should throttle them.grizzh8r wrote:I ****** hate EWU.
Huse will never get us where we want to go. Three years of the exact same crap in a row should prove that.... Which means he'll be here for another 10 years....

I have always felt that way about EWU to. They have been a thorn in both Montana teams. I don't know why, but they seem to always mess it up for one or both of the Montana schools.technoCat wrote:I hate EWU more than ANY other team in the sky. Re: Cats at EWU
we're tied with PSU in the loss column going into Portland if we lose we are tied with NAU. We are heading for another first round game with UM at their place in the tourney!

Maybe we won't make it at all. That would be the merciful thing.Helcat72 wrote:we're tied with PSU in the loss column going into Portland if we lose we are tied with NAU. We are heading for another first round game with UM at their place in the tourney!

We will make the tournament. Fortunately, one more win (and if we can't beat Sac at home, who cares anymore) could still quite possibly get us 4th place since it's fairly unlikely that either NAU or PSU will get to 9-7 given their remaining games. Check out EWU's schedule since January 10. Sigh.BelgradeBobcat wrote:Helcat72 wrote: Maybe we won't make it at all. That would be the merciful thing.

We probably will make it. But we'll be backing in. Sac is actually playing well right now and they have some talent. They beat EWU fairly easily (led the whole way) on Sunday.MSU01 wrote:We will make the tournament. The Griz also lost to the Eagles. So is that bad coaching on Tinkles part who appears to have a more talented roster than MSU?

Re: Cats at EWU
Actually, I think it is the fact that we got swept by a team that is well below us in the standings that is difficult for people to swallow, and that two of their three (now four) conference wins came against MSU. Actually, I don't think EWU is that terrible, as they may have proven today against UM. In fact, there are probably not any truly bad teams in the BSC this year, as everyone has at least three conference wins already.bpcats wrote:The Griz also lost to the Eagles. But the fact remains, that this team is very likely headed to a 9-7 record in the BSC, and probably the #4 seed, which is certainly an improvement over our 2009 regular season. But our surprising run through the tourney last year, combined with going 6-2 in the first half of BSC play this season, I think led many fans to expect really big things out of this team (realistically or not). So it was very frustrating to then see us struggle so much the second time through the conference schedule. And even with the road win at PSU (which was a much needed boost to the fan's psyche, and probably the team's as well), we are still only 2-4 in the 2nd half of the BSC schedule.
It just seems that we are forever stuck in this sort of "middle of the pack purgatory". In the 33 years that I have been a Bobcat fan, we have won only two BSC MBB titles, and made it to the title game only five times. And frankly, it seems like we are headed for more of the same under Huse, that we had for 16 years under Durham. Rarely will be very bad (as defined by missing the tourney), but probably even more rarely will we be very good (as defined by at least getting to the championship game).

Re: Cats at EWU
I honestly don't know how much longer Tinkle should be there. He is a great recruiter but a lackluster coach. I am amazed at the amount of talent he pulls in, but can't seem to get the full potential out of them.
