Re: WBB vs ISU
Natalie Picton! Wow. My favorite Bobcat. She reminds me of Iverson. Energy. Running all over the court. She seems stronger than last year. She goes up for shots with more strength. You can tell a year in the weight room has been good for her.
At the end of the game when it was all freshman and sophmores playing together.....the future is bright!
We are so flush with point guards. Esme. Dylan. Natalie. All three on the court together a couple times last night. DP/NP connection was working last night. DP had a good night too. EM drops 30 the other night. Wow!
Interesting to see how the gris play at Cat/gris without their head coach. They played better last night? They have players. I never got the impression Brian was that nice of a dude.

Re: WBB vs ISU
Picton is such a stud, I remember watching her last year and seeing glimpses that will translate to a beast PG in the future. She was in over her head a little bit as a freshman, but like you said, that was huge for her development. When Morales transferred I remember thinking "It will be such a shame that Natalie won't start for this team, but we are loaded in the backcourt......" Now I realize what a luxury she must be for Binford as that spark plug off the bench. I love the lineup when both she and Morales are on the court together, they both can penetrate and finish, penetrate and kick out to the open three, or picture-perfect entry passes to the post for bunnies.Helcat72 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 3:53 amNatalie really put on a show...that final three looked like a heat check. She just dribbled it to the 3 point line and thought "I wonder if I'm still hot"? Afterward her face looked like "I don't wanna wake up!".
I bet she wished that there were about 10 minutes left. She was 1 assist short if a double double, 5 steals short of a triple...Last year was really good for her. She has developed her skills as a point guard way beyond where most sophomores normally are.
Coach Binford has done a great job handling that many talented players. It appears as if every one if them are having fun. I was glad to see Izzy Bunyan contribute.

From top to bottom I think this is the most talented squad Coach Binford has ever had. Their defensive intensity, shooting ability, depth off the bench, fast paced effort from start to finish, and team chemstry are something to behold. This team really has fun playing the game and they are a joy to watch, especially in person. I went to the game last night and then watched some of it later on rerun and watching on TV is just not the same as being in the gym.

This team is really fun to watch, especially when they turn up the defensive intensity and go on a run. If you have not been to a game, I would strongly suggest you give it a try.

I honestly would get season tickets to the women over the men if I lived in Bozeman and had to choose one. I love Coach Bin and all her teams.

I love when players hit the short jumpers. That seems to be a lost shot these days.rfischer94 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 6:53 am7 - 0 run in 40ish seconds. Spectacular.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 11:33 pmWatch this. It's the run that started the snow ball rolling:

Same here, I watch way more women's college basketball in general these days than men's. So many great players and coaches right now and the level of skill is incredibly high, plus quite a few of the high-level games are on ESPN+. The attendance for last night's women's game (1867) was only 500 fewer than it was for the men's Thursday game the week prior, so if the women keep winning and the men keep losing I wouldn't be surprised if the women are outdrawing the men by the end of the season.

With such a deep deep team I was concerned Natalie's minutes might dwindle considering we added Morales and Philip is healthy. Just a few games ago against EWU Picton only played five. But I gotta believe her minutes will swing up especially after last night. She does so much. And she is the only one on the team that is willing to put her body on the line and draw charges. She would start on most Big Sky teams.

Have to say I've seen Esmay set up to take charges and certainly when it comes to "putting her body on the line" Taylee wins the trophy. Not saying Natalie doesn't do it often and has a knack for finding opportunities. And every player out there seems to be on the floor scrambling and working hard!

I have never been to a Cat /Griz women's game here in Missoula.
