MBB vs Omaha
Anyone know how to stream the mens's bball game tonight? Apparently it's on the Summit League network. Anyone know if that exists on some random streaming platform, PlutoTV etc?

Midco sports. One month subscription costs $9.99.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Anyone notice how much the #1’s play more 1v1 and for themselves versus how the #2’s set hard screens, box out players so that lanes open up, and share the ball more to get a better look at the basket?

Re: MBB vs Omaha
End of game thoughts:
- Starting to put things together
- First 10 minutes were ROUGH but once Logie started mixing guys in, the more flow the team had
- “Starting 5” cannot move the ball. They are stagnant, play too much 1-on-1 ball, don’t move off ball, are reluctant passers at times
- There is a very stark difference between how the “1’s” like to play and how the “2s” want to play
- Need to mix them together to get the perfect combo
- Jed is looking very nice. Need a facilitator at the PG position. Jed is a facilitator
- This team as a collective CANNOT rebound the basketball. A good rebounding night for this team is when the rebounding numbers are about 50-50
- There are people on this team who can rebound and it makes a huge difference when they’re in
- Need more EFFORT to crash the offensive glass and to BOX OUT on defense
- Very good shooting night where the Cats got just about everything look they wanted.
- This team is at its best when they shoot 20-25 3’s a game and they look to attack the paint (they did this tonight)
- Omaha is not very good, this should be the result when you play a not good team
- Kansas City is also not a very good team. Cats need to bully them off the court on Saturday!!!

Any D-1 non-conference road win is a good win! Redeemed themselves from their terrible offensive showing against CSUN.

Re: MBB vs Omaha
They ended +9 on the glass against ACU who is a good rebounding team. They clearly can do it but for some reason don't do it consistently. It's maddening.Desert_Bobcat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 9:00 pmEnd of game thoughts:

Re: MBB vs Omaha
The Bobcats are currently +0.2 in average rebounding margin per game, so it doesn't seem to be a HUGE problem at this point. Without looking up the stats I'd guess they were much worse than that last year at this time before Robert Ford turned into an even shorter version of Dennis Rodman.

The numbers don’t paint the entire picture. Giving up 2nd chance points have played a factor for the Cats in closer games this season. And you give up 2nd chance points by giving up offensive rebounds.MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 5:34 pmThe Bobcats are currently +0.2 in average rebounding margin per game, so it doesn't seem to be a HUGE problem at this point. - Wichita St: 19 2nd chance points (lost by 20)
- Northwestern: 20 2nd chance points (lost by 3)
- So Miss: 15 2nd chance points (won by 20)
- Abilene Christian: 2 2nd chance points (won by 26)
Get the picture?
Obviously there are more things that go into winning a game than just limiting offensive rebounds. And obviously there’s a huge talent difference between Northwestern and a ACU or Denver. But, the losses I listed were very much winnable games in part if they limited O boards. Giving up O boards is major factor that plays into winning or losing the close games. It’s an effort thing and you have to be willing to put into the work to box out your man.
I’ll call out Walker here because he’s a clear cut example of a guy who doesn’t box out and gives up a lot of O boards. It’s like watching a 3rd grade basketball game at times. He stands below the rim and tries to jump for the ball. Not boxing out or giving yourself or your teammates any advantage to get the ball. The Cats rebound the best when they have a guy or two in there who’s willing to get a little dirty and who prides themselves on making the effort play and boxes their man out. Look who got the only 3 offensive boards yesterday vs Omaha and that’ll tell you who all I’m referring to.
