....I heard a rumor tonight that MSU has a men's basketball team, but i haven't seen anything that looks like a basketball team at MSU since 1996. Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?
Sorry, I am just so tired of not even being able to DREAM about our team making it to the NCAA tourney. I grew up a die hard Cat Basketball fan(it was bigger than football to me) and now even I don't feel drawn to the games. What's it going to take to get MSU Basketball back to relevance? Is Bozeman just not a basketball town?

I heard that rumor too. I can't argue, they just look completely lost offensively at all times.

I don't believe that Bozeman "just isn't a basketball town". MSU basketball has had small spurts over the years when it was successful, their teams were fun to watch, and they had a large and enthusiastic following. I'm talking about 1979-1982 under Haroldson, 1986-1988 under Starner, and 1995-1999 under Durham. But those windows always seemed to open and close again fairly quickly, to be followed by many more years of mediocrity. So far, Huse hasn't even been able to accomplish one of these small spurts of success, unless you count 2009 when we got lucky and won a couple of games in the BSC tourney. By the end of the season, this may turn out to be the worst team of his 5-year tenure. I'm hesitant to call for anyone's job, but it seems that we've done nothing more than tread water under Huse, at best. If you haven't seen the desired results within the first 5 years of a coach's tenure, it's highly unlikely that you ever will. How many more years of continued mediocrity are we willing to accept? I believe UM has at least 5 BSC titles/NCAA tourney appearances since our last one in 1996.

I agree, I just wana see us go to the big dance once! I'm sick of hovering around .500, and making a first round exit (fluke year excluded) in the BSC tourny. We always seem to limp into the tourny, losing x amount of our last y games heading in.

are you suggesting that we haven't been recruiting the talent necessary to succeed in this conference? i don't know about that.
