Re: MSU way up on Poly
Nice win over a quality opponent. Cal Poly is very much the calibre of a good Big Sky team.
The first half was close all the way and back and forth. Piepoli found his three ball early in the second half and then Singleton took over for a stretch to get some separation over them.
This was my first look at the 2010-2011 edition. It's very much Howard and Rush's team. I think both guys have a shot at being all conference. Rush tended to disappear at times last season, but he looks great so far this year. Howard is his usual self-tough, tenacious, and can score from anywhere.
Singleton is probably the key addition. A real floor general and super quick. He's going to drive a lot of other teams nuts.
Just like last year this team is undersized. Cody Anderson is improved, but he's always going to be in foul trouble. He works hard though. Johnson and Allou are really athletic and quick-definitely going to cause matchup problems. I'm not sure how we'll handle big teams like Montana with a couple of 7 footers, but we weren't any taller last year and did okay. Budnich didn't play at all-not sure if he's sick, hurt, in coaches doghouse, or just buried behind our other "bigs".
We looked really quick and the freshmen are really skilled...but they're still freshmen.
Has a chance to be be pretty decent season and the future is definitely bright. We just need to get a few bigger guys in here.

Oh yeah-the new scoreboard looks great.
The little guys who played at halftime were running around the court and looking up at the video of themselves-it was pretty funny.

Those guys really poured it on last night in the second half. Nice to see some killer instinct and awesome teamwork.
4-1 looks pretty sweet at the moment!
Any pics of the new scoreboard?

MSU has San Francisco on Weds. night, then a tough one at Iowa State. ISU beat NAU 78-64 in their opener.

Looks like Craig Brackens must have moved on to the NBA, which is good for MSU. He was a BEAST for ISU last season.TomCat88 wrote:MSU has San Francisco on Weds. night, then a tough one at Iowa State. ISU beat NAU 78-64 in their opener.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
