Close at half- who the hell is the idiot announcer (not that Jeremy isn't), but the other guy is is so HOMER. KPAX does such a $hitty job with any tv sports coverage- even with a digital signal it's almost like watching B&W.

The play-by-play guy just referred to the Griz as 'us'. What a wank.

He also stated before the game that he hasn't seen Dissly play since he was in high school. Nice impartial announce team!

Oh yeah, and good to see our free throw shooting has improved so much. :x

The Cats put out a great effort tonight and every player on that floor fought hard, but the effort came up short 73-65. Casey Durham had a great game and it was too bad that a leg cramp had to end his stellar night. Carlos Taylor did a good job from the floor, but he really really has to hit those free throws. He left 5 points at the line on 1-6 shooting. The defense and rebounding was efficient and Ted Morris had a nice defensive effort against Andrew Strait. Jordan Hasquet made the difference for the Griz. I'm pleased with the Bobcats' effort, but I'm disappointed (as they are) that we didn't get the win. I can't wait for February 10 to get another crack at the Griz. Now the Cats finally get to play at home.

Neither team played a great game, but I felt good about the Cats effort on the road in Missoula. For the most part I thought the officiating was pretty equal on both sides, but the last few minutes the calls definitely ( to me) seemed tilted in the griz' favor.

Especially that loose ball foul against Dissly. What a bunch of BS.

Eric Hays. He was a guard on the team that lost to UCLA in 1975 and coached at Hellgate High School for many, many years...

Certainly not an impartial announcer by any stretch of the imagination.

Nice effort by the Cats tonight. I believe Brad has these guys competing hard night in and night out. Cat fans should be excited as Brad Huse has won at every stop in his coaching career...

I heard the tool say "us" a few times. I hate KPAX's coverage. You would think UM would be able to afford some decent commentators who would be impartial. I'll give the commentators a little credit because I couldn't do what they do, but they still suck. Jeremy looked like a giddy middle-schooler interviewing his hero Ricky Bobby Hauck at halftime. I wonder if Jeremy listens to his broadcasts the next day? If he does, he should count the amount of times he says "he missed a big shot, right there" or "we have a good game going on, right here". Anyways, it was a good game. Seemed like the crowd was a little lackluster, but I think the Cats will get them in Bozeman.

And exactly how does that qualify him as an impartial announcer? That seems to be the big complaint.

Sometimes it's just too easy upsetting a Griz that I don't know why I try.

Who worked with Jeremy on the womens game? That guy seemed to have a Bozeman slant. Maybe they just go with someone close for monetary reasons. Atleast the game is on television.

By the way, I really do enjoy how right on you guys are about Jeremy's love fest for Bobby Hauck, it is rather amusing.

“I think I've heard every coach that's coached against the Grizzlies this year sit up here and say, ‘You know, we're better than those guys, and we can beat those guys,' ” said Kramer. “You know what? The truth is you ain't. So shut. The heck. Up.

I have a friend whose name is pronounced "A tool" (spelled Atul). Cracks me up every time I think about that.

That was my Butthead post of the day.

I guess I am not as down on the men's performance as some I guess. The game was even closer than the final score indicated. Granted we did lose, but, I was very impressed by how hard our players played and worked. I really do not think top to bottom we have quite the talent that the Griz have, but we still hung in there and did not go away. I thought we out hustled, were more disciplined, and got the better of the coaching job out of our coaches than UM did. I really have to give our coaches alot of credit for the way they played. In the end though we could not just get over the hump. The one thing I felt a little bit bad for Brad was that, from what I hear Huse was the main guy at UM to convince Rundles to sign with UM. Unfortunately Rundles turned out to be as good if not better than they thought he could be. I really like Rundles.

The talent level at MSU will get better. Once we are near par talent wise with the Montana's, NAU's and Easterns we are going to be tough to compete with.

I just watched the game on DVR (had to work Saturday), and I was pretty impressed with our team, especially since the only other game I watched all season was against Western State back in November. We have improved drastically since that game. I never felt we were outmatched the whole game - our inexperience showed during the last few minutes of the game, IMO. We played pretty patient ball (though we had a few bad decisions), and were pretty disciplined.

This team will continue to improve, but we MUST cut down on the fouls. That was my biggest concern watching the game - that and we need an offensive presence down low.

Especially the fouls that are over 30 feet from the basket. No one is a threat from there, and a foul that far away is a gift.

The only thing that bothered me was that we left Hasquit (sp?) open for easy 10-14 foot jumpers all game. He is not someone to leave open from that distance.

Yep, I think they were more worried about packing it in more for Strait etc. and had to compensate by doing that. So we pretty much traded Strait's points for Hasquets I think. Kind of pick your poison there as we don't have a lot of big guys to guard Straight one on one ... YET THAT IS.
