New Bobcat
It will come out in the papers tomorrow so I thought I would add this onto the Bobcat Nation today. Dan Ogden verbally committed to become a Bobcat last night. Both of us are very excited about the future of the football program. Thank you, once again, to all of you that made our trip to Bozeman earlier this year such a great experience.
It wasn't just the full ride offer that made MSU such a good fit but rather all of the attention that the whole staff gave Dan and our family. It really takes all of the pressure off when they basically offer a scholarship after he was named Defensive MVP of the Bobcat camp this last summer. All of the phone calls and letters from the coaches before and after his games were great as well. It just goes to show that feeling "wanted" goes a long way in the recruitment process.

His thoughts are to become a teacher like his mother. He loves kids and is already a great coach to his younger brothers. This will give him the opportunity to coach as well. I know from personal experience that things tend to change before graduation but that is what he is thinking about at this moment. With his good grades in high school and work ethic, anything is possible.

Fantastic news! Thank you for putting your faith and confidence in MSU and its football program. Great things are happening with this program and I don't think you will be disappointed in the decision to play for the Blue & Gold. It truly is a wonderful school and a great community.
Stand up & cheer!

That is GREAT news! Couldn't have asked for a better New Year's present as a Bobcat fan, and I'm sure it is a hundred times better for you guys! Dan will not regret his decision, my years at Montana State were some of the greatest years of my life - and I am glad you seem to trust that Coach Kramer has this program under control and is continuing to move this program forward towards perennial national power status. Congratulations - and have a glass of champagne on me tonight! (not Dan, of course)

Position
He will most likely stay on the line. He is a little over 260 now with 4.8 40 speed. Too bad we don't run with a fullback. I think that is a position he really loves. The d-line is just something that fit his size and strength. I think he grew to really like the line. He really grew a lot after being double teamed most of the year. The same thing happend to Hoff after some recognition.

Re: Position
That is great news. MSU D-lineman are always a strong point for the Defense. Sounds like he is a great fit and I can't wait to see him in the rotation with Bobo, Papich, and Kinkelaar.drider64 wrote:He will most likely stay on the line. Congrats Dan. Can't wait to to watch you wearing the Blue & Gold. A little birdie told me that Shane Robison, from Billings has also verbally committed. His sister is playing for the Griz. That's what you call "top notch recuiting". Congratulations to Shane too. Love these Montana young men coming back to the Blue & Gold.
