just heard from a great source that Kramer is taking the job at Idaho, press confrence today. ( his duaghter )

His daugter is also the one who floated the rumor about the D-coordinator postion at Michigan St, so be careful what you believe to be 100% true.

It'll be nice when this cra**** is over- one way or the other....

If this is true, this is how Kramer wanted it to be done. Quickley, so that we can get a new coach in here as soon as possible.

If true... and maybe thie is just wishful thinking on my part, but I think Kramer would be the best person to recommend his replacement. We can throw all the names out there we want, and Fields can hire whomever he wants... but I would think that Kramer has enough invested in the program that he would want to see us continue to succeed after he's gone...

If this is true ... then now is the time to move forward and find a coach that can improve the program in a number of areas. I am confident that Fields and company will find an excellent replacement to take the program to higher ground.

This isn't true. The Idaho AD has said he will be putting together a list of 2-3 people and then bring them in for interviews. Unless Kramer gave him an ultimatum, then I highly doubt this is the case. It probably won't be done until Friday.

I have heard that it is all but official.

I am sure that they have a "hiring process" that they must follow, and in that process they need 2-3 finalists. Of course when you are looking to hire your 3rd coach in 4 years you probably need to pick someone quickly for the sake of your current and future players. So the Administration is acting like they are going through the process, when they are really trying to limit the amount of time without a coach to save any further negative images befalling their football program.

Any institution that receives federal funds must follow the federal laws relative posting, interviewing and the hiring process; that said, many the time I've hired a teacher and offered a teacher or coach a position prior to the expiration of the time limit. In fact, the board meeting was little more than a rubber stamp. If he's been offered and accepted, it's been upheld several times this is a valid contract and all the better if a piece of paper was involved. Does that mean Spear won't waste the time of whoever else he's been told to interview? Suspect it'll possibly resort to a free plane ride.

...and if Coach has been offered, it's already been made. Key phrase will be "We'll let you know one way or the other."

Is there a big party on Lake Coeur d'Alene right now? If so, somebody take the keys away from Dennis Is Coaches house on the lake a two or three boat garage?

I'm not going to believe what anyone says on here about Kramer leaving until it's official. You don't think people are posting things to mess with peoples' minds?

As we both know by MT state law - only the Board of Trustees can can hire and fire a teacher/coach. While agree with you often times it is merely a rubber stamp.

With that said, the hiring within a University is delegated down contingent upon approval of the Regents, much like in K-12.

I would argue federal funds has nothing to do with the process with the exception of EEO hiring practices, nothing to do with the posting of the position. That is a debate for another time.

All true and correct. Our regents are our rubber stamp in this instance.

Don't have the time or...to even discuss the postings timeline issues as I've spent virtually my entire career dealing with federal grants and in school systems whereby most of their annual budget is in fact federal funds.

Simply wanted to clarify that I believe everything from here on out is merely a formality, if you will.
