I wouldn't say they didn't miss a call, but I would say that they were very solid officials.

I'd give the thumbs up to that crew.

Please tell me that it won't be a Big Sky crew in Boone next Saturday!! [-o<

I'm sure they'll shift it around with another conference, but I just want some validation. :)

The crew today was from the Southland Conference (McNeese State et al) so I think they're going to have "non-associated" officials for all the playoff games so we shouldn't have to worry about Big Sky Officials next week. Thank God!

There was some question about Taito's fumble. I was on the opposite side and didn't see it. Was it a fumble?

Their coach sure was giving the guy on his side an earful. All this after the game was well in hand.

From my vantage point, I couldn't see the Taito fumble. I thought he made a great effort to push the pile, then all of a sudden, there was a guy in a white jersey pointing like they had the ball.

The refs will not come from a conference where either team plays

I agree. It was like, we made a play then a few seconds later some FU player comes out with the ball. Confused the crap out of me.

I was right there on the 30 and didn't see a dang thing. He just must have gotten his pocket picked in the mob. Ditto what bobcatmaniac said about being confused.

Maybe it is now legal to grab the ball from the ref or something.

Griz thought so too, and we won. Do you suppose there is any correlation between winning and the fans being satisfied with the officiating.

YEP.

When you win by more than 20, officiating is not an issue.

Good job Cats representing the Big Sky.

I agree the refs were night and day from Big Sky officials. They did a great job today. The Big Sky refs should take some lessons.

I was listening to the ASU game earlier today and it was mentioned that in the playoffs neither team can use the refs from the conference they are members of - even if both teams in the playoff game are from the same conf. They mentioned this when the Furman game was still early in the 1st quarter and the SoCon had a possibility of having Appalachian State and Furman going at it for the 4th time in two yers.

I think the ASU-CCU game had refs from the Patriot League.

Looking forward to seeing you in Boone next week.

It's a bit of a distance to travel, but Boone is a nice town to visit.

Yes, excellent job by that crew. Every obvious infraction was called and they acted very professional and didn't have that 'chip' on their shoulder like some of our Big Sky Refs seem to have. Anyone know what conference that crew was from?

The fumble seemed that the whole pile pushed forward, he was down, and then got stripped and the guy comes out holding the ball. Bad call because it looked like they did not see any fumble just someone else coming out of the pile with the ball. Also, on play where epi got hurt should that have been a block below the waist being it was down field and outside the line. Almost like a chop block.

I had a great view and he ran the last yard or so without the ball. I think somebody hit it with their arm and knocked it loose. It was a good call.

I thought the worst call they made was when they put a second back on the clock and gave Furman the timeout whent he game was over and players/fans were celebrating on the field. Just thought it was very much uncalled for.
