App state is a top 4 seed so they have the home game automatically.

p.s. I'd be more concerned with Furman right now. 8)

Actually, CTOWM is correct. The only teams that receive seeds are the top four. If you are one of them, you are guaranteed a home game until you meet a higher seed (i.e. semifinals).

So, when we win, and Appalachian does too, we would go there with no ifs and or buts

I-AA is not a bidding war. If you are a top four seed you get games at home until you lose or face a higher seed. App State and UM have home field all the way to the Championship if they win.

Meat is right, trust me as well.

Let's worry about Furman. We already got one surprise, let's not worry about C. Carolina beating App ST. just yet. Which would be the only way we get a second game at home, should we beat Furman.

Actually, I think even the top four seeds have to bid to host their games, but they just have to meet the minumum bid amount. They can't be outbid. Can anybody confirm this?

Correct, they must bid the minumum.

And knowing you are going to be a seed like ASU helps you make some money as you get to split the gate receipts with the NCAA over and above your bid (as opposed to them just taking all of them).

In 2003 Colgate was a top four seed, but did not meet the minimum bid for the national semifinal game, so they had to play at unseeded FAU. That's the only example I can come up where a top four seed has failed to host against an unseeded team.

Believe me, should you beat us you will be at ASU - top four seeds just have to bid the minimum and they are guaranteed a home game - that is the rule. Check the sportsnetwork website for 1aa playoff rules. Bidding only plays in to at-large......That is why all top four are home this week and, should they win, will be next week. The fact they are home this week (and App was for every game last year too) proves you will be there if you beat us.

Which is what he said, in a nutshell.

Only if App St wins. Very good chance we could out-bid CCU in round 2.

I wouldn't count CCU out yet - in 2004 GSU was a top seed, and lost to New Hampshire, allowing the Griz to continue to host. CCU beat Furman this year, wouldn't surprise me if ASU overlooks them and gets upset. If the Cat's beat Furman it wouldn't surprise me to see CCU in Bozeman on the 2nd. But you have to beat Furman first.

Would be great in the cats could get a 2nd round home game!

Beat Furman this week at home, App St and their house, then if Younstown loses in either of the next two games, we bid for another home game. Could have two at home this year.
