But I digress.... Mens Basketball first win.

Post by mslacat » Mon Nov 20, 2006 11:46 am

I know things are hopping in football today and for the next few weeks until the 2nd Brawl of the Wild in December. I am going talk briefly about last night’s game.

First I want to that my Griz buddy Dave for lunch next Tuesday, and remind him next time you make a bet with me who will get their first D-1 win the Griz or the Cats ........... CHECK THE SCHEDULE! rub.. rub.. rub.

I think we have found our three key cogs.

Dissly showed a lot of (insert your own body part reference) by playing last night. I had heard from multiple sources that his sprained ankle was really bad. I do not think Dissly will be a League MVP candidate, but his leadership is evident. I think for us to be successful Dissly will average 10-12 points a game, a couple steals, a couple assists, a handful of rebounds and most of these coming at key moments in the game.

Taylor does a lot of things for us but we are going to need him to score in the 14-15 point range consistently. He looks to be someone who can score in multiple ways for us and we are really looking for scoring.

Morris A lot of weight will fall on Morris's shoulders. We need close to double digit rebound and he is going to score in double digits. I don't know if he can pull double double's every night but the games he is not close we will struggle mightily.

I think these three will be are bread and butter, but I think we will need Davis to step up, and Johnson to become more consistent.

Right now Durham and Durr are role player, but those guys will be counted on to step up their game when others struggle

Arm?

I agree with the three you mentioned. And this was the first time we had all three on the court except for the first few minutes of the Minot exhibition game.

Huse said Dissly would only get a few minutes. What did he have-20 or so? That was a gutsy performance.

Nice win for the cats. I think they will have their hands full in the BSC this year. I listened to some of the SSU vs UW game and the Huskies had to come back 13 points. A very good game, SSU sounds very athletic.

I agree but with 10 new players and and 6 freshman this season is about building a program, and progress from game to game. We do have one of the best coaches in the league and a talented group of players. I still think we can make the play-offs. It will not be easy, but acheivable by this team. In my opinion.

I hope you are right. That would be quite an achievement for them. I have been going to the BSC Basketball tourney for about the last 10 years and it is always way more fun when the cats are there.
