Great Game

Post by CARDIAC_CATS » Sun Nov 19, 2006 10:24 am

Even though the Cats lost I have to say as far as drama and pure excitement that game has to go down as the top game I have seen all time in the series (not counting 97 in there :) ). Both defenses came to play and it was a VERY HARD hitting game. They made a few longer plays that helped set up what scoring they did get and we had MANY (COUNT EM) chances in the first half alone to get points off of their mistakes. We didn't so you really have to hand it to the Griz defense for shutting our offense down time and time again in the first half and in the 4th quarter. That game was everything I thought it was and more. Wished it could have come out for a WIN for the Cats but again we had our chances.

I do think we will get them next year at OUR HOUSE though :)

Wouldn't shock me. That's the way it seems to be shaking out for the last four years or so. Home team wins.

Anyway, it was a fun game to see. Too bad either of those teams had to lose. Kudos to the Cats for keeping it together for the last 2/3 of the season after that dismal start. I've been questioning Kramer's coaching due to the lack of ability to really do anything with the fantastic talent/leadership the past few years - but the way he held this team together, getting an offensive unit that was almost entirely new to gel, and keeping afloat despite the awful losses early on, has me singing his praises.

Anyway, good luck. I hope you guys get a chance at the playoffs. The thought that any OVC team might get an at-large at MSU's expense makes me sick to my stomach.
