Just wondering how the selling of the thundersticks went. i wacthed the game on tv but didn't see too many. Just curious

I had my 4 and they were great. Good Job barechest! I think next week you will see more used.

The Great Falls boosters did throw a little wrinkle into the plan. They were GIVING AWAY blue ones. I talked to the guys over at their tailgate. They had know idea another fan was trying to sell 6,000 of them until pre-game, when I walked over there with a box of them.

I think our group was beating them too hard, because by the second quarter, we had broken four. They were still great. Will be easier on them Saturday.

Walkon, was that you that rtb and I met in the Great Falls booster section when we came in with a bunch trying to sell them? If so, nice to meet ya!

Not sure how barechest ended up doing overall, but rtb and I did our best door to door salesman impression through the booster lot and sold around 125 pairs or so.

That was me. I have some friends who party in that section, so I move back and forth from there to Barechest's to another one right on 11th, where my brothers hang out. Unfortunately this was the only game I made or will make this year, and for the next three years I'm limited with a kid playing in High School. Thank god for Max Media. I hope we keep that contract for a long time.

Agreed! I met five or six posters this weekend I think. It's good to see people at the games and chat. If you can make it a point to find kmax or myself, we can usually find the other person pretty easily.

The experience with the Thunderstix was a mixed one. All told we sold around 500-600 pairs. So, the financial side of things leaves something to be desired. But, I did meet at least 6-8 members of the board; talk about great people!!!!

I really have to say thank you to RTB, KMAX, and Walkon79 for helping me sell this weekend. So, I say to the three of you a very heartfelt THANK YOU!

The boosters, particularly with children, were the major purchasers. But, that's not to say they were the only ones. Many people on the booster side bought some.

The students brought back a harsh reminder that when you are in school, money is not a prevalent thing and what they do have is spent on stuff they deem important (such as that extra beer later on). I got a lot of blank stares from the students when I walked through that part of the pre-game tailgating; even had a couple tell me that $2/pair was a rip off

The Pi Phi's helped man a table that MSU was most gracious to set up right in front of the main gates (thank you MSU!!!). Also, some of them did some selling in the student section but reporte similar experiences to mine.

This coming weekend, Chinook Wireless is doing a free giveaway of thunderstix (or something equivalent). That rules out any sales for me both from a legal and marketing stand point.

So, at this point, I'm sitting on around 5500 (man did this seem like a better idea last week this time

).

Not really wanting to hold onto these for a year, I'm hoping to send back the unopened boxes and pay the 15% re-stocking fee, find a corporate sponsor who may want them for a future promo, see if Bobcat athletics would buy them for a future promo, hope and pray for a home playoff game (which I'll sell them then for $1/pair to try and break even).

All in all, as long as I find a way to get most of my investment back, the experience was a great one.

I bought two pair Saturday, but the gal working the booth where I bought them said they were $2 a piece, not a pair. I didn't argue - just ponied up the $4/pair. Figured it was going to a good cause
