Basketball Tid Bits

Just a few items to keep an eye on concerneing mens basketball.

-Derochowski had a grion pull last week and pulled it again last Saturday- in front of a group of high school coaches attending the MSU basketball clinic. He sat out a few practices, I think he will be available for Fridays practice.

- I have heard from a couple sources that you need to keep your eye on Jonathan Malloy. He will play this season and some predict he will start before conference. When I saw him he looked good, but I did not get "starting material" feeling.

-Huse is really making the rounds promoting the 6th man club. Helena Tuesday, Great falls yesterday, and Billings tonight. Huse will be visiting each of those cities chapter of the 6th Man club once a month during the basketball season. Coaches are also hosting a informal get together after the scrimage tomorrow.

- Desin is now listed on the official roster at the MSU website. I have also heard he is playing very well more like a scholarship player than a technically a walk-on player. So keep an eye on him tomorrow.

- Oh did I mention the Basketball team will be scrimmaging tomorrow!!

I'll be at the scrimmage tomorrow. WHOO!
Anywho, I saw Derochowski yesterday and he was kind of limping around. I was going to ask what had happened to him but I didn't get the chance so thanks for the clarification, mslacat.

I listened to the interview with coach Huse on the sports nuts the other day and I like the way Huse talks about the team this year. He says that he is worried about the defence and our tuffness under the hoop. Practice-wise he feels we are right where we should be. He hopes we score around the mid 70s and hold the opposition to the high 60s.

Just a bump and reminder that the Hoops team has a scrimmage tonight at 5:00. What better way to start of the Bobcat Weekend then catching a little preseason hoops? I will be there and you should be there too!
