in your hotel room with the curtains closed and the tv blasting, eating the food and drinking the beer that you packed before going into that nasty place.

Not much going on in Pokie. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn or Quality Inn and just hang out at the bar there. The Green T is a huge country/western setup with something like 7 bars, but I'm not into C/W (there is some nice scenery though).

Hey we got a 10plex movie theater! Buddy's is a great place to eat. Beware of the GAAAAALIC breath the next day if you eat the salads but WELL worth it. Should be some high school football in the dome on Friday.

When did the Cat fans start to whine like the Griz fans?
If you're here Friday night, there are the standard restaurant chains you can go to (Perkins, Red Lobster, Fazoli's, Elmer's...). Go to some of the local places though for good food and a great time -- Mama Inez for great Mexican, Buddy's for great Italian, Oliver's looks like a standard coffee shop but has a great menu with every type of option you can imagine. Try the Bengal IPA at Portneuf Valley Brewing. The Press Box is a sports bar/restaurant where you'll run into a lot of Bengal and Bobcat fans.
Want some sports? Go to the dome early and watch Century take on Preston (think Napolean Dynamite) for some high school action. Better yet, go to Reed and take in some volleyball with the Bengals taking on the Griz.
Culture? Go to the new Stephens Performing Arts Center - it really is a nice facility and contains a state of the art concert hall and a black box theater. You can catch Shakespeare's Macbeth or the ISU Symphony tonight (you missed Carol King perform last night).

Hope to see some of you tailgating beforehand, and have a safe trip back.

Isn't there a casino just North of town around 20 miles?
Ah, yeah, gambling...

Fort Hall Casino is only about 10 miles north of town, just off the freeway.

If you drive about 30 miles south, Lava Hot Springs is GREAT (and is open till 10 or 11 pm).

The Brewpub (Portneuf Brewing) usually has live entertainment as well.

The Press Box is always a good stop. Cold beer, good eats and we've always had good camaraderie with the Bengal fans.
The one in Idaho Falls usually makes the itinerary also- either going down, coming back, or both.

Honestly, I like Pokeafellow

.
It is kinda cool how part of the city is on that hillside - makes for some great views.
Lava Hot Springs IS great - been there myself.

Can't remember the name of the golf course on the hill, but it's fun to play.
