Song List For Weber Game

Post by #34 » Wed Oct 18, 2006 3:54 pm

I know this has been brought up before in another thread, but I think the topic needs to be revisited. I think the music played over the PA system in the stadium can play a vital role in engaging the fans' emotions and further pumping up the players. When I played ball, music was a big part of our pre-game ritual. While the music selection thus far has been ok, there have been some songs that I just keep waiting to hear, but I'm often left disappointed. i.e. "Hells Bells," "Welcome to the Jungle," etc. I'm also a fan of our band, but from where I sit I can't hear them playing between plays...does anyone else have this problem? The only cure for my fever is "more cowbell" (read "more thumping tunes"). If you agree, what songs help pump you up?

4 The Nation by Evin Groves. I think my wife gets tired of hearing it on the drive up to the stadium each week, but it is a must have for Bobcat Gameday.

To me, the best song ever right before kick off is "Welcome to the jungle". It never gets old. Other than that. Any song from AC/DC's Back in Black album will do.

Marilyn Manson and Linkin Park top my workout list ... some clips from some of their songs are great for getting revved up.

I am also a fan of them playing the hightlight video with Fort Minor's "Remember the Name" right before the team comes out. They should play that song during the game sometimes.

Hell's Bells is played at the start of every game for kickoff (thus the reason it is the ringtone on my cell phone). Maybe you just aren't in in time to hear it?

I would definitely like to hear them play Evin Groves "4 the Nation" and get rid of "We Built This City"... God, that is an awful song, especially during a football game.

Football is not a game but a religion, a metaphysical island of fundamental truth in a highly verbalized, disguised society, a throwback of 30,000 generations of anthropological time. ~Arnold Mandell

Are you sure? I'm always there plenty early yet I don't remember hearing it this season. Maybe I'm just so out-of-my-mind excited that I don't notice it. I also like the Fort Minor tune...it helps to get things amped up.

Here's a few songs that should be on the playlist:

1) Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue. I've said it before, this song will wreck you, especially the intro.

2)Guerrilla Radio by Rage Against the Machine. Song kicks @ss.

3)Life Wasted by Peal Jam. Song kicks @ass.

4)Seek and Destroy. Song kicks @ss.

5)Happy Pills by Candlebox. Song kicks @ss.

What's the difference between you and a mallard with a cold? One's a sick duck. I can't remember how it ends but your mother's a whore.

I missed kickoff of UCD, but I am almost positive I have heard if for all the others. I know I heard it at the EWU game.

Not sure if they have played it yet this year.. But the song "We Ready" By Archie Eversole feat Bubba Sparx has got to be the best football pump up song there is right now! \:D/

I was actually just going to say the same thing. I was at the Donkey/Raider game this last weekend and that is what Denver has playing before every kickoff for them. The players on the field eat it up and the crowd goes nutbar.

They play that Starship song at the games? That was cool for about 5 minutes during 1985 (thanks Google!) ... and then it ended abruptly, never to be spoken of again by anyone involved.

In fact, I don't even know what song you are talking about ... and let's keep it that way.

Exctasy of Gold (Metallica) with a highlight video of previous game on big screen similiar to what they did 2-3 years ago. I think that is a fitting song since our helmets/colors are blue and gold! The Colorado Avalanche use that song as well to get the crowd pumped up. It should be a tradition to do that each and every game as the players/fans will see the players making big plays from the week before and get pumped up and ready to go!

Don't act like you don't know...C'mon BAC, sing it with me...

WE BUILT THIS CITY...WE BUILT THIS CITY ON ROCK AND ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

I will agree that this song does nothing to get the crowd going, yet alone the players.

My suggestions...

Post by catatac » Wed Oct 18, 2006 4:45 pm

My votes would be:

Filter – Hey Man Nice Shot
Alice in Chains – Dem Bones
Tool – 10,000 Days
Metallica - Sanitarium
Anything from the latest Foo Fighters album 1
Guns & Roses – Need to replace “Welcome” with “Paradise City”

I think it’s about time for that... 8)

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone on BN have contact with the girl whom is responsible for choosing the music played during the game? If there is such a person, maybe he/she could forward on some of the aforementioned songs. [-o<
