Game Day Atmosphere
Another thread is beginning this debate. So, I thought I'd split it off.
Here's the things I love about my Gameday Experience at Bobcat Stadium:
1) The tailgate - I love being able to park right at the stadium and set up our tailgate. We do it on the booster side with a couple of my buddies. We get to do our own thing and be right at the stadium. Which also lends itself to halftime get togethers and after the game celebrations that we don't get run right out after the game from.
2) The game - I love being at the games. The electricity is great. And I've noticed other teams having plenty of problems hearing snap counts with our attendance; so I'd say the 12th man is definitely in effect here. There's not many things better then being with a bunch of other fans and going crazy watching the Bobcats play.
Overall my wife and I have come to cherish Bobcat home games as a great way to spend time with our kids, spend time with friends, and witness some very high quality entertainment at a reasonable price.
There are very few things that we would rather spend a Saturday afternoon doing; at least when it comes to football.

Good thread Barechest. What I like about our game day experience, is that there is something for everyone. The inflatables for the kids are great, there is always a band, and we have developed a good community of fans. The one thing I have also come to appreciate is that, while we have developed high expectations...our fans seem to appreciate the experience, and the Bobcats..win or lose. Our fans more resemble the fans of the Packers, that those of say the niners or cowboys...no offense to either group...
I feel very fortunate to attend the games, and am even more excited to introduce my four year old son to the Bobcat community...he will soon have his own season ticket.
The Bobcat tailgate is a great place to make new friends, while stying in touch with the ones you already have.
And it is only getting better

We are looking at buying an RV. I told my wife that we could camp out at the stadium next year on Friday nights for home games. She hasn't quite bought into that yet; of course we live less then a mile from the stadium as the crow fliesCat Gal wrote:You guys are right on. We even go and spend Friday night at the stadium before the home games, because we do not want to miss any of the action. It is cool watching all the fans come in and set up their tailgates. Great atmosphere!!!

The electricity in the air, the crowd noise in a great stadium, the awesome anticipation of the kickoff and the first big hit, the blue and gold colors adorned all over the stadium, BOBCAT FOOTBALL, and yes, seeing old friends and meeting new ones who are Bobcat fans. College football and especially Bobcat Football... not much else matches the scene! Man oh Man.... just love the game... and the Bobcats!

Saturday morning's when you're lookin' for win and Sunday mornings when you've found one! (a little take-off from the movie Radio).
Being able to live in the greatest place in the world and only having to drive 10 miles to see my alma mater play division 1 football. I swear I will never take that for granted-no matter how frustrated I may be by the team's performance.
On a sunny fall day-right before kickoff-knowing that there is no where on earth I'd rather be (I had that feeling right before the Chadron game-afterwards not so much).
The affordability of Bobcat football (really understood that after shelling out $50 for a bad seat at Colorado that wasn't any more comfortable than any seat at Bobcat Stadium). The accessibility of Bobcat football-I don't have to be a $1 millon booster to get a great tailgating spot, close enough to get to at halftime and being able to sit close enough to the action to actually see what's going on and hear the pads poppin'.

Actually, nothing beats hitting the Reserve Street exit in Missoula and knowing you don't have to come back!crazycat wrote:Nice! No one will be able to top that.catfish wrote:I love hitting the reserve street exit in Missoula and heading 200 miles east for the tailgates and game!

It's fun to get outdoors for a few hours and watch football. And a stadium that's surrounded by mountains and with a few thousand blue-and-gold clad Bobcat fans is exactly the kind of place I'd want to be on many Saturdays in autumn. It's great to see more people at the stands and have a great tailgate. It may not be the largest game day experience, but it's our game day experience and I wouldn't want it any differently.
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.

If I had a motorhome I would do the same thing! No tents right?Cat Gal wrote:Bearchest-we only live three miles from the stadium. My husband thought I was nuts when I suggested we spend the night Friday night last year. We have done it every home game since. It grows on you!!! Your wife will love it.

Great thread. We have two kids and for the past three seasons have purchased two extra season tickets so they can both bring friends to all the games. We get to really know their buddies, spend great family time together - AND help grow Bobcat Nation by indoctrinating youngins to the fun. All the kids we take seem to become big fans of the blue and gold!
Go CATS!!
