Key Stat (Revisited)

After allowing opponents to convert 30 of 61 third-down tries in the first four games, NAU and Portland State combined for 5-for-24 on third down the last two games.

Great job guys! :P Get the D off the field and the O on the field. This is the major gauge in my opinion on how well a defense is playing overall and getting the other offense off the field. Would be interesting to look at the numbers of the top 5 defenses in the NFL and see where they are at (Bears/Chargers/Ravens/Broncos etc.). I bet they all have pretty low 3rd down completion %'s.

Anyway, great improvement in that area D! And remember it all starts on first down with that stat! Stop em hard on first down and get them in 3rd and long and you will get off the field and get the O back on!
