MBB: Magazine previews
20+ years ago I used to by most of the College Basketball preview mags - I am sure you are shocked about that - then came the internet. Over the past 6-5 years they really became out dated and I generally now only by one, for the misc. schedules and other info they have. That said though I generally will look over the content of the Mag more particular Big Sky predictions. This year this is what I learned about the Bobcats based on looking over 4-5 preview Mags,
- The Cat's will finish between 5-7th.
- Zamora and Meckling will be players of impact.
- None of our players will be all conference
- Most mags give the Cat's props for hiring Huse.
- Derrick Edmonds will be our leading scorer this season.
As you can see with the last item the folks who write these articles most do not know anything about most of the teams they cover. If you are looking for a Mag to read with lunch - which I was today- pick up the Sporting News year book they seem to have most of the updated info.
To be honest I don't know how much longer these sport yearbooks are going to survive. They simply can not compete with the instant information provided by the internet.

What is your prediction for where the Cats will finish in the conference this year? Top 3? Bottom ? Or somewhere in the middle?

Re: MBB: Magazine previews
There are a lot of questions to be answered, so many new players, but real quality players. I really don't have any comfort zone in predicting..... but I will. I think we have the talent to sneak into the playoffs so that would put us about 6th. I also think coach Huse is good enough a coach to raise us a spot or two so optimistcally 4-6 place.grizband wrote: MslaCat,

Edmonds, not Holmes. I believe Edmons transferred to a JC in Oklahoma, but I'm not too sure.STREETCAT wrote:http://www.bobcatnation.com/bobcatboard ... php?t=7661duelalumnicat wrote:Mslacat, have you or anyone else heard whether Edmonds caught on with another school?

That's right I forgot about that. I still don't understand why he left to go look at NAIA schools.mslacat wrote:I thought I heard Edmonds was looking at NAIA schools in LA. his home state. He did not leave. He did not make the grade in the class room winter/spring semester, and was told his scholarship would not be renewedlonghorn_22 wrote:That's right I forgot about that.
