Rolovich is OUTSTANDING!
Anyone else notice that Jack was very comfortable in the game? We didn't have to lean on Mason to get each first down and carry the offense?
I have said it for weeks that this team could be better if Cory was a stronger QB, it is too bad that he had to get hurt in order to see Jack in there, but there is no question in my mind who is the better QB. I think even better things are around the corner for this team!
Big win today, and great crowd for sticking in there even when the weather wasn't the best.

Kramer said that Rolo will be the starter for the next few weeks on the post game. Said Carp has a high ankle sprain so Rolo gets the nod.rtb wrote:Anyone else notice that Jack was very comfortable in the game? We didn't have to lean on Mason to get each first down and carry the offense?

That is a great decision. Rolovich will make a big difference for the offense. I think he will take us to the next level.coachouert wrote:Kramer said that Rolo will be the starter for the next few weeks on the post game. He may be a gunslinger without a conscience but I think this team needs someone like that at QB.
Mason has emerged as a stud to say the least. Couple that with the fact that next week Groves will be back. Talk about a two headed monster! The thing that I noticed with Rolo that I still have not seen Carp do is check through his progressions. The TD was a great example of that. Instead of rushing and immediately dumping the screen off, he started by looking at the left side of the field, checked through every reciever (keeping the D honest) then found a wide open Mason as his last option. Great work.
With Rolo's arm, the fact that all of our recievers are now healthy, and the return of Groves, this team should be a scary site for opponents from here on out.

Exactly! He threw one ball that wasn't catchable and the good thing was it wasn't catchable by anyone. The rest of the passes Rolo had were right on Target. He hit Wheaton in the hands that should have been six points. Also I noticed he has more touch on the ball and isn't firing the bullet pass that we say earlier this year. I am EXCITED about this team's potential.MM7CAT wrote:With Rolo's arm, the fact that all of our recievers are now healthy, and the return of Groves, this team should be a scary site for opponents from here on out.

It's great to be in a position that when the starting QB goes down, that we have another QB that is more than capable. That's the kind of depth we are going to need to dig out of the hole we are in for the rest of the season.
And I will finally get to see the Cats in person next weekend ... and we need another great performance to get past the Hornets.

Rolovich did a fine job this afternoon after Carpenter went down. I knew that Cory was hurt when he tried to get up but could not without assistance. However, there was no dropoff with Jack in the quarterback spot and I think he'll do fine for the next few weeks.
GO CATS!

So which true Frosh will be on the traveling squad as the backup this week?bozbobcat wrote:Rolovich did a fine job this afternoon after Carpenter went down. See ya there! We hoped that the Yankees would win (I cant believe I just typed that) so mabye we could catch an ALCS game on Sunday as well but it was not in the cards.Bay Area Cat wrote:See you at the tailgate! I am going to say Desin. That way if Jefferson, Wheaton, Lewis, Tolliver, or Lulay go down we will have another reciever as well (I really just wanted to point out all of the stud recievers we have.)Bay Area Cat wrote:So which true Frosh will be on the traveling squad as the backup this week?bozbobcat wrote:Rolovich did a fine job this afternoon after Carpenter went down. No way Desin makes the trip over Rassmussen. It actually wouldn't surprise me if both make the trip just in case. Although it never hurts to have lots of good receivers!MM7CAT wrote:I am going to say Desin. I've got nothing here for you, BAC, but I'd go with Rasmussen on first instinct, but Desin could also tag along.Bay Area Cat wrote:So which true Frosh will be on the traveling squad as the backup this week?bozbobcat wrote:Rolovich did a fine job this afternoon after Carpenter went down. I'd also like to add that I hated to see Cory Carpenter go down to injury. He's a competitor. With that said, I hope he can return soon, but I have all confidence that Jack Rolovich will do a good job for the foreseeable future.

It's not much of a decision. With the injury, Cory will probably be out for a few weeks.catsrback76 wrote:That is a great decision. Rolovich will make a big difference for the offense. Mason was outstanding today. The line did a great job of holding the trenches and giving Mason a few seconds to find a seam. He rushed well while the ground was not in the best shape. Rolo looked comfortable while Cory looked really rushed. I liked how Jack just stood there and threw some balls. I think there was some timing issues, but give him some snaps this week and think things will be just fine.MM7CAT wrote:He may be a gunslinger without a conscience but I think this team needs someone like that at QB.

Carpenter wasn't looking that sharp in the second half. Hate to see anyone injured, but it was looking like a QB change anyway. Hope Cory is OK, but Rolo will do fine.

I agree Rolovich was awesome. Just his command in the huddle was better than Carpenter. I hate that Carpenter went down with an injury, but Rolovich just had a better command and more confident look. Jack has the ability to look off receivers and go to the open man. Carpenter tracks on one receiver and that's it.
Mason has made the offense so much better. He has the quickness and I think he is already one ofthe best running backs we have had in years. It will be interesting when Evan get's back. Should be a potent one two punch. Add Taito and we can punish the oppositon in our running game.
And how about that defense!! Wow!

On the half time talk, kramer said we need better play out of our quarterback, I only got to watch part of the 3rd quarter but the first two series did not show me better play. I hope that a change was going to be made even if Cory had not gotten hurt. I am not saying he should not be the starter if healthy but that is why you have backups, when one is not on, you go to the other. That is only fair to the other players and fans. Give the team the best chance to win on any given day. I think if Mason had been give the chance against EWU we win easily. I don't care if he misses a block here and there, the guy can flat out run. You cant tell me the O-line has improved that much in the last two weeks.
