Plantar Fasciitis is nasty! It effectively ended Jay Buhner's career with the Mariners. It takes rest.

I see that Morris received a cortisone injection. This is usually held off unless absolutely necessary, but I would surmise that they are being a little more aggressive with their therapy taking into account him being a football player and all. This should help him recover faster, although I think I would hope he doesn't play much, if at all, this weekend.

It depends on the severity of the pull/stretch. If the tendon has detached partially from the heal of foot, it could be all year for Morris to recover. Alonzo Mourning had it 5-6 years back and it took him 2-3 months to come back from it as it was a tear off the bone. If its just inflamation/pull of the tendon then he should be back (with treatment) within 2-3 weeks?

Rasheed Wallace had it in the LA series and they made a big deal of it in the early games...but it didn't seem to hinder him later on. Maybe winning cures it a lot!

Cardiac: sounds like we both may have had this thing. Mine was an actual hair line tear in the facia causing the inflamation. Amost any movement in the foot would re-aggravate the tear, so it took over a year to recover. But you're right, if it's a relatively minor stretch he could be back in a few weeks.
Free advise. Don't use soft soled or running shoes when operating a shovel!

You know whats funny? I hurt it (plantar) doing Tae Bo with the girlfriend on hard concrete

I never did get treatment on it, but it took 3-4 weeks of no running/walking/staying off my feet to get it healed up. I guess when that Tae Bo was the craze TONS of people were hurting their feet doing it as they rushed into it and their tendons had not been stretched to account for all the increased range of motion. It sure hurts though I know that.

I don't know that I'm all that concerned about this. Albert Pujols has it right now and it certainly hasn't stopped him from playing to an MVP level.
