Housewright and Tommy vs Sterbick and Lamson

Post by nanacat » Mon Dec 22, 2025 12:02 pm

For all the concern of having to start this year with a new OC and new QB 1, I'm feeling like they've done ok. Clearly, and in his interview it was confirmed, Sterbick and Lamson have a great relationship and are working super well together.

I recall it didn't seem the same with Tommy and Housewright, and many posters on this board addressed it. Obviously, last year was Tommy's best year, and Housewright was gone, so there's that.

But how cool to see an OC and QB mesh like they are this year. Sure hope they both stay.

I would love to see Sterbick stick around for a few years and think he'll be a great candidate to take over from Vigen when he does eventually move on. Howe would also be a great candidate but Sterbick has the advantage of prior head coaching experience. I don't see any way that Lamson leaves barring an unexpected coaching change - after struggling to get on the field at Syracuse and Stanford what would be the motivation to put himself right back in that type of situation when he can stay at MSU and be a top Payton Award candidate while being the undisputed QB1 for a National Championship contender.

I saw that Lamson was also trying to recruit other players to come play here, so I doubt he’s wanting to leave.
