Cats Control Their Own Destiny!!!

Post by catatac » Sat Nov 01, 2025 6:41 pm

And just like that, if the Cats win out we are at home until Nashville - absolutely zero question about that now. It feels good, and it's a GREAT day to be a Bobcat! Thank you Abilene Christian.

Yes, unreal day #2 (tarleton); #4 (SDSU); #6 (UC Davis); #8 (UND) all lose! We indeed win out and we get the #2 seed. But if the Brawl turns the wrong way, we have a chance to get #3 or #4 depending on how other games end (like SDSU losing again to UND which seems possible). Abilene Christian pulled off a massive upset that went to the wire. Unreal finish.

Same for the Griz. Good situation for Montana and the BSC.

OVerall, I agree. Would be better for BSC if Davis had won. Then good chance 2,3,and 4 could have been BIg Sky teams. Now, Davis looks fairly weak. Idaho up and coming but don't see them getting in on the bubble. Big Sky might only get 3 teams and MVFC could still get 5, just don't know which 5 as there is a surprise every week. My guess is NDSU, UND, SDSU, Ill State and ?? - USD or SIU.

The most encouraging game for MSU was the NDSU vs YSU game.

Obviously, sdsu isn’t the same team without Mason. 19 points in two games.

MSU - 17 team National Champions (most recent 2025); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Davis has a brutal end of the season. At Idaho (who is way better than their record shows IMO) MSU, and Sac, who is going to be a bubble team if they can beat Davis. Davis dropping all 3 and finishing 6-5 isn't out of the question.

Idaho could be interesting...if they win out, will 7-5 with 3 wins down the stretch against playoff or bubble teams count?

I could see the Big Sky only getting 3. Or I could see 5. A lot is going to depend on what happens in conferences like the UAC. Austin Peay and ACU are bubble teams, but Tarleton is a lock. If ACU wins the auto (which seems likely), the UAC gets 2 bids...but if ACU loses a game, it's a one bid conference. That opens up a slot for a team like Sac or possibly a 7 win BSC team.

Lots of crazy scenarios left to play out.

Of the 4-5 teams that have a legit shot at winning it all, I'd say the Cats have hands down the best defense. That's a big deal

I assume SDSU w/ Mason is one of those teams. Who is the 5th?

Showing pressure on fourth down in overtime. They bring pressure. Lamson throws...Endzone! Caught! TOUCHDOWN!!! Taco Dowler!

And a kick away from a championship.

Here we go. Miles Sansted. Snap, hold, kick, Up, GOOOOD!! FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!

I wouldn’t put MSU’s defense ahead of NDSU just yet.

Feel like it has just been the Mason discussion but SDSU has starters hurt all over the place.

When i wrote that i started thinking the same thing. After today, might be a 3 horse race. Id like to think Davis is capable but their QB might be too green. SDSU is toothless without their QB. Tarleton State? Tarleton state?!

I don't know....NDSU didn't look invincible today. A mobile, athletic QB gave them all they could handle.

It's ok to believe Tom😉

I didn't watch all of SDSU game but in 4th Q when they were trying to get back in I thought they were on QB3. Did backup QB get hurt too?

Yes, the 3rd string QB was in for their last two drives.

Giving up 30 at home to the Penguins has me believing. I haven't been following the details, but I suspect they are having some late season depth/injury issues. There's hope.
