Steve Swinford, VP Of student success who's quoted in the article was my sociology 101 prof. I had a broken leg the end of that class and it was in a big lecture hall. I will always remember him for coming up to get my final from me so that I didn't have to go down the stairs on crutches to turn it in.

I did a quick look at the schools above us and didn’t see any BSC schools. Kind of expected to see UCD and Cal Poly.

You missed it. Davis was very high, #60. Poly ranked a surprisingly low #1402, below UM, Idaho, NDSU, SDSU and UND.

I probably missed some, but other than the obvious Ivy League schools, I only found 6 FCS schools above MSU: Stony Brook (215), Georgetown (221), Lehigh (541), UNH (708), W&M (715) and Maine (731). MSU beat five Patriot League schools, which pride themselves on their academics. MSU is also only behind four public FCS school, 2 of which only have 1 main "flagship" school, Maine and UNH (by that I mean there is no Maine State University or New Hampshire State University), so they are able to funnel more resources/funding to the one school. Very impressive ranking for Montana State!
